Question Set 2
04 November 2024
Question/Answer Response:
1. The drawings show +/- for the measurement specifications, however the appendix C only shows + for measurement specifications. Should these “+” indicators be “+/-“ like indicated on the drawings?
A. We have attached an updated Appendix C which includes the + and – in the measurements for the modular cabinet workstation measurement specifications.
2. Appendix C 3.2.1 states height requirements being “37 inches + 1”, a 38” cabinet creates extra space requiring the drawers to be slightly larger. Would the Government accept the below specifications?
Cabinet
Height – 38”
Width – 30”
Depth – 27 ¾”
Drawers – all 25 1/8” wide x 25 1/8” deep
Following 48% rule in 3.2.3.1
Usable height
Top Drawer – 6 ¾”
Middle two drawers – 7 ½”
Bottom drawer – 8 ¼”
A. YES
3. Appendix C 3.2.2 “Fork guides to interface with a forklift truck or pallet jack. Height of 2½ inches + ½ inch”. Standard fork height is 1.5 inches high. Would the Government accept the fork guides of 1 ¾” high? This seems to be a standard fork guide opening from industry.
A. Believe the Offerror has misunderstood the intent of paragraph. The paragraph is for the Pallet Base which is a height of 2-1/2 inches +/- ½ inch. Fork guides are incorporated within the pallet base to interface with truck or jack. The 1-3/4” fork guides are acceptable.
4.In the Document APPENDIX A Pallet RACK Chapter n°2 Applicable document and in the Chapter n° 3 Configuration is mentioned a certification RMI
"The pallet rack shall conform to the requirements of the Rack Manufacturers Institute (RMI)
Specification for the Design, Testing and Utilization of Industrial Steel Storage Racks RMI/
ANSI MH16.1."
In Europe there is another type of certification and different UE Standard, can we offer a product with a UE with complementary certifications?
A. YES. When submitting proposal please ensure the cut sheets provided contain information that it meets those UE certifications.
