Luke AFB, AZ & Kirtland AFB, NM Question Set 1 24 July 2024

Question/Answer Response:

1. Both Bases – Is there a dock available for delivery or an overhead door?

There is a cargo dock next door available for use.

2. Luke AFB

a. App A – 3.3.4 states that the contractor is to run the data/phone cables to the roof for Luke personnel to do hookup with, but then also states the contractor needs permission to do final hookup. Is the contractor responsible for final hookup, or is Luke AFB? If we are truly only running cables to the roof, how much cable (ft) needs to be left on the roof for them to hook into?

10ft of cable shall be left for base hookup. Appendix A paragraph 3.3.4. has been revised.

b. App D – 2.2.1 Are we moving C48144 pallet rack from one location to another and adding additional GFE levels, or just adjusting the beam levels and adding more to existing with GFE? If we are just adding beam levels, how many levels are being added to each bay?

C48144 GFE pallet rack is being moved from one location to another and additional GFE levels are being added. One additional level per bay.

3. Kirtland AFB

a. Are the 3 sheet metal racks and all 75 cabinets going in bldg. 1010 in one area or multiple areas within the bldg.? No drawing was provided so its unclear how far apart everything is.

Specified sheet metal racks and cabinets shall be provided in the same section of the warehouse, with the sheet metal racks being installed adjacent to one another and the cabinets being installed adjacent to one another. The exact location within that section will be determined at the post award.

b. Can you please clarify what “Options to purchase 25 additional cabinets of each type shall exist beyond the base contract in quantities of 25” means? Are these options to be awarded with the rest of the contract (assuming budget allows), or are they to be available to order months beyond project issuance/completion? If beyond contract, how long?

The options are written into the solicitation and contract via FAR 52.217-7 to allow the Government of exercising said options within 60 days of contract award—after that the options expire.

c. If the Rider Reach truck is purchased, how far away from the labeled existing power would the charging station be?

If purchased, the rider reach will be located within 100 feet of an existing power source.
