Travis AFB, CA Questions/Answers Set #2 Date 6 May 24
1. Cover PD, section 3.1.3 REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL OF EQUIPMENT, Can we get schematics of the existing TV’s and both buildings 959 and 961?
Schematics of the existing TVs to be removed will not be provided. Drawings and additional information on the interfacing equipment that will remain can be provided upon contract award.
2. Cover PD, section 3.2.2.5 CABLE TRAYS, In building 961 can any of the existing wire trays by re-used or do they all get demoed?
Cable trays associated with equipment to be demolished shall also be removed and replaced as needed.
3. Cover PD, section 3.2.3.11.2 PROGRAMMING TERMINAL AND SOFTWARE, What hardware and software is currently being utilized? Presuming we comply with your existing hardware and software, are new laptops required?
Existing PLCs for the TVs are Siemens but shall be replaced as a part of this contract. Per the referenced paragraph, “All programming software, manuals, cables, and other hardware, necessary for programing each PLC provided under this contract shall be compatible with the maintenance shops computers or two industrial grade, rugged notebook computers shall be provided.” If the maintenance shop’s equipment is not compatible with what is provided, then the computers need to be provided as a part of the contract per the specification.
4. Appendix A – Transfer Vehicle (TVs), section 3.2.9.1, Does fused mean Thermite welded? Can Flash Butt Welding be used?
Per the specifications, “crane rail joints shall be fused together and ground smooth to form one continuous rail.” There is no specific joining method required. As long as the distance, center to center, and elevation tolerances specified in CMAA 70 are met and independent certification confirming this are provided as required in Appendix A, paragraph 3.2.9.1. the fusing will be acceptable.
