About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract opportunity FA860126Q0133 regarding dining furniture procurement for NASIC Building 828.
The document addresses eight key inquiries from potential offerors regarding material specifications, manufacturer requirements, and contract flexibility. Materials specifications include 1.25-inch standard table thickness with steel table bases; chair, counter-stool, and sectional sofa specifications are detailed in Section 2.2 of the Statement of Work (SOW), with finishes and colors to be determined after contract award. Furniture must meet commercial-grade standards and salient characteristics specified in the scope. The government clarifies that no mandatory brand-name requirements exist; products are provided as a basis of design, and alternate products meeting salient characteristics and similar in appearance will be acceptable. Offerors may propose equivalent products from multiple manufacturers and may combine products from different manufacturers in a single proposal. Supporting documentation for equivalent products should include cut sheets, product representative statements, pictures, finish options, and website links. The nonmanufacturer rule does not apply to this total small-business set-aside, and no class or individual waivers have been issued as of August 25, 2026. Pricing must be based on fabric grade as specified in the SOW. An equivalent stabilization system may be proposed as an alternative to the specified NoRock system, though adjustable glides are not acceptable equivalents. Small-business primes may source furniture through authorized dealers and subcontract design, removal, delivery, and installation work with no restrictions on self-performance minimums.
