The solicitation is seeking a meter to determine viscosity, density, cloud point and freeze point of fuels and lubricants using ASTM test methods. The meter is required for testing at the Air Force Petroleum Agency's Aerospace Fuels Laboratories at Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio to support various testing needs for the Department of Defense. This is a sources sought notice for market research purposes only, and the government is not requesting quotes or proposals at this time. The FAQs provide additional details on the intended application and usage of the meter, indicating a need for two units - one for a fuels lab and one for a lubricants lab. The primary concern is for the lubricants lab to help reduce the workload of maintaining low temperature baths.

FAQs
1. I reviewed the document provided and couldn’t locate a corresponding product for those specifica ons. Do you have any more details on this meter you are looking for? What is the applica on for this? Where is the going to be used in?
A: This was the original unit that I had found. Another company had a similar unit but it uses a different method for the viscosity which may work for fuels tes ng but the hope was to get two units; one for our fuels lab and one for our lubes lab. The one for the lubes lab (oil and hydraulic fluid) is the primary concern as it would help to lessen the work load for the low temperature baths which we have had a difficult me maintaining and purchasing.
