Attachment 3: RFI Responses
1. The solicitation calls for one 500 watt laser and one 1000 watt laser. Is there a preference to have two different laser wattages or can both lasers be 1000 watts?
a. No preference, both lasers may be 1000 Watts and they may deliver a 500 Watt & 1000
Watt pair.
2. Regarding the dual laser configuration, can you clarify how you would like the two lasers to operate? For example, two lasers building the same part or two lasers building two separate parts. Or one laser for testing?
a. Both lasers should be able to build the same part or act independently building different parts.
3. What types of material are you looking to print with?
a. Tungsten and molybdenum alloys
4. Offloading the machine from the delivery truck and setting the machine into place – Contractor Responsibility or Wright Patterson Responsibility?
a. Contractor Responsibility.
5. Creating the properly fused electrical connections to the machine – Contractor Responsibility or
Wright Patterson Responsibility?
a. Fused electrical connections are available in the room and the room is set-up with electrical connections for multiple metal 3D printers. Contractor would be responsible for making final connection from electrical boxes to machines
6. Any sort of gas connections (nitrogen or argon) – Contractor Responsibility or Wright Patterson Responsibility?
a. Argon and nitrogen gas connections are available at the wall near where the printer will sit. Contractor will be responsible for making final connection from wall to printer.
