What quantity of snow days does the government want priced?
A: Either 12/25 days would suffice. We normally allow for 25, but we were considering only 12 this year.
Is the contractor responsible for snow removal on any roads or just pedestrian areas?
A: Contractor is not responsible for roadway snow/ice removal-only pedestrian areas.
Can we store snow removal equipment on site?
A; Generally speaking, yes equipment can be stored on site. Road salt is provided in bulk.
Is road salt provided in bulk format or bagged format?
A: Road salt is provided in bulk.
PWS 1.5.2 states that Plastic Trash Can Liners/Bags will be provided by the contractor. However, PWS 3.2 states that the Gov't will furnish toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, salt/ice melt and RPBM supplied centralized trash liners/bags. These seem to be ambiguous. Please clarify what supplies the gov't will furnish and what supplies the contractor is responsible to furnish.
A: Plastic can liners are government supplied (by each facility).
Toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, ice melt are provided by Civil Engineering.
Sanitary napkin disposal can liners are supplied by the Contractor.
Supplies such as bowl cleaners, toilet bowl mops, towels, cleaning chemicals, etc. are the responsibility of the Contractor.
How many janitorial closets are available for this contract?
A: No count available. Typically each facility has them on each floor.
Please confirm no exterior window cleaning is included in this contract.
A: Only CDC windows are on contract (no NASIC windows). CDC windows are only done semi-annually.
Please confirm snow removal is not required over weekends per section 1.3.3.1 snow and ice removal.
A: Snow removal is not required on the weekend, however snow shall be removed IAW with PWS paragraph: 1.3.2 Snow and Ice Removal. The Contractor shall have all snow and ice removed from all sidewalks, steps, stairs, landings, ramps and entrances indicated on building data sheets no later than 0600 each snow day …. (snow could be removed on Monday morning prior to 0600 if snow/ice accumulated over 1 inch during the weekend).
Section 4.1.2 states the working hours are to be 0600-1800 Monday through Friday, but page 21 of the SOW indicates the following work hours. Please advise
0. 1X Daily Service and 2X Daily Service (2nd Occurrence)
0. 11403, 20630, 26933 (CDC) 1800- 0600 Monday-Friday
0. 26933 (School Age) 2030-0600 Mon-Thur and 1930-0600 Fri, and Every 1st Sunday 0900 -0600 on Monday
0. 20234 (Youth Center) 1830-0600 Mon-Thur and 2030 -0600 Fri
A: Generally speaking, these are normal hours of operation for the base – NOT necessarily the CDCs or NASIC. Page 21 indicates specific performance times for both the CDCs and NASIC facilities. I.E., NASIC facilities would be cleaned sometime between 0600-1330
