Answers to Contractor Questions: Blood Transfusion Laboratory Furniture

1. In the admin area, please confirm the request for (3) 3 drawer lateral files.

Confirmed

2. Please clarify the 3 sinks (1 in student, 1 in the island and 1 in the issue area) are new or if any are existing. If all are new, are we responsible for providing sink and drain hardware, but no plumbing connection to the building?

Only 2 sinks, there isn’t one in the issue area, new sinks. plumbing to be installed and just tie into existing building piping (where current sinks are)

1. The specs include a sink in the island area and Issue area and states include installation and plumbing. Not sure where the one sink is to be capped and if we will be responsible for that or not.

The government is capping the sink

2. The equipment on the plan provided doesn't indicate if the equipment will be on the floor or if it will be tabletop needing a surface and supports for the equipment.

All on floor

3. When demolition of the existing furniture is complete, will the patching of the floor and painting/patching of the walls be the responsibility of others?

Flooring will happen in between demolition and re-installation on night shift and the Government will take care of painting and patching

4. Tech Area: - Do the cabinet drawers (1 Sm, 2 Md, 1 Lg) need to have lids or locks locks

5. Student Area: There is no cabinet specified for the sink that is shown on the drawing. Is the sink being removed and if so is that part of the scope we are bidding?

6. Issue Area: Where is this? Does it overlap with the Student Area? Or is it to the left of the Freezers and a new sink is being installed?

5 and 6 go together, the issue point and student area are the same; so the sink in the issue area is really the student area.
