About this file

This document contains questions and answers related to solicitation number FA8571-24-Q-0005 for a fall arrest protection system for aircraft wings at building B89. The questions and answers provide additional details for the required fall protection system, which must be a rigid rail installed either overhead on the building roof structure or ground-mounted. The contractor will be responsible for analyzing if the existing building can structurally support an overhead rigid rail system, and if not, designing an alternative ground-based inverted L system. A single C130 aircraft located in the center of the hangar requires fall protection along its wings, with a rigid rail already in place over the fuselage. No preference is stated on rail manufacturer.

Fall Arrest Protecon System - Aircra Wings – B89 Solicitaon FA8571-24-Q-0005

Queson and Answer 30 October 2023

This one can only handle a rigid rail with the six users on the rail.

1. Do you have any pictures of the area where this new fall protecon system is to be installed? can you please share? Not at the current me, drawings will be provided upon award.

2. Is the fall protecon system only for one (1) C130 in the center of the hangar as shown in the layout atached? Yes, this is correct.

3. The descripon of work only calls for fall protecon along the wings of the C130. Would it be beneficial or necessary to provide fall protecon along the fuselage of the plain as well? This would allow any user to have fall protecon no mater where they are working on the plane at any given me. A rigid rail is already in place over the fuselage.

4. The preferred fall protecon system is a rigid rail track. Do you have a preferred manufacturer for this track? For this applicaon we would most likely want to ulize a bridge monorail system, is this acceptable? No, a rigid rail is necessary for this applicaon. No preference on manufacturer.

5. Is the intent that our company provide an analysis of the structural load capacity of the roof itself or is it the requirement for our company to resolve the loads imposed on the structure from the fall protecon system we supply and install? The contractor is to analyze if the building can support their designed overhead rigid rail system. If the building cannot support it, the contractor is to design a ground-based system like an inverted L system that can support a rigid rail.
