Performance-based Work Statement (PWS) for
C-5 Servo Motors
Purchase Request: FD2060-15-00052
Date:25 March 2016
1.0 Description of Services
1.1 Objective: This Performance-based Work Statement (PWS) describes the services required to support depot-level repair coverage for C-5 Autothrottle Servo Motor and the C-5 Automatic Pilot Servo Motor. See National Stock Number List (NSN) list in the Appendix. These services include teardown, evaluation, repair, testing, procurement of components, packaging, handling, storage, transportation, as well as data collection while maintaining a prompt delivery schedule.
The contractor shall comply with the quality levels necessary to return assets in serviceable condition, deliver repaired assets on time, and accurately complete CAV-AF reporting in a timely manner.
1.2 Benefit to United States Air Force (USAF): These services provide assets to reduce current backorders and meet quarterly demand rates that will support Air Force sorties and aircraft Programmed Depot Maintenance (PDM) for the C-5 Galaxy Mission which will support and enhance the war-fighting capabilities of the Air Force.
1.3 1.3 Background: The Auto Throttle Servo (ATS) is a rotary actuator, provided to control airspeed; mach number of angle of attack, within the aircraft’s operational envelope.
The Autopilot Servo (APS) is a rotary actuator. It provides the necessary coupling or isolation of the autopilot subsystem with the control linkages and cables, for automatic operation of the control surfaces. The basic automatic pilot subsystem provides a means of achieving hold modes of flight in the pitch and lateral axes.
2.0 Services Summary: The performance threshold briefly describes the minimum acceptable levels of service required for each requirement. These thresholds are critical to mission success.
