Questions and Answers for FPI RFP

Product Description EZPT-0319 20Aug19:

1). Para. 3.4.10 "Wash Station" ... two (2) overhead splash protected UV-A lamps for area illumination. Q: Can they be fluorescent twin tube UV-A bulbs/fixture (as opposed to LED UV-A fixtures)?

A: PP 3.9 states “LED UV-A lamps are to be used unless otherwise specified.”

2). Para. 3.4.10.2 "Side-Splash" the paragraph references the pre-rinse tank two times where it should be referencing the wash tank.

A: Correct 3). Para. 3.4.11 "Aqueous Developer Station" The note at the end states that the filter will not be used with aqueous suspendable developers.

Q: Do we provide the filter system and just cap it, OR not provide the filter system?

A: Yes, provide the filter system as described.

4). Para. 3.4.16 "Inspection Station" Same overhead UV-A questions as 3,4,10 "Wash Station" A: Same response as question 1.

Can white lights also be fluorescent twin tube bulbs/fixtures (as opposed to LED white light fixtures)?

A: There is no specification for white light illumination.

5). Para. 3.4.13 "Dryer Station" Table II, Size 2, 3, 4 and 5 list a minimum usable interior dimension of 29" wide. Being the exteriors are 42" wide, and with 2" thick insulated walls, the usable interior dimension could be as large as 38" wide. Q: Do you have a preference in usable width?

A: The PD states a minimum width, the preference is maximize usable space. The exterior dimensions are also maximum. The basic frame size is 34 inches (Table I) which allows for the minimum 29 inch minimum interior.

6) The sizes are the same on PT48 and the PT48S, I understand on the PT48S you need the Dryer and Inspection booth smaller but no where do I find where it’s documented what size these 2 stations need to be. In the table you have listed the Dryer is listed at 42”W but in the Sizes it’s listed as 34”W.

Can you please advise the actual sizes you need the Dryer and Inspection booth to be on the PT48S in order to fit the foot print? The tables listed in the PD don’t tell us the difference in the PT48 and the PT48S.

A: The overall size differences from Size 4, PT-48 and Size 5, PT-48S are found in Tables II and IV listed as the ‘Maximum Exterior Dimensions’. The lengths for both Size 4 dryer station and inspection station are 48 inches. Frame sizes listed in Table I should be consistent throughout, particularly the 34” width. The width deviations in Tables II and IV are intended to accommodate exterior fixture protrusions such as controls, circulation volume increase, or curtain extensions.

Deviations from width dimensions for other than frame sizes noted in Tables II and IV should be requested through the point of contact.

Additionally, rest stations for Size 4 are 24 inches long, see paragraph 3.4.15.

6). Note to Contractor: Foreign Military Sales 10 to 15 days prior to shipment, contact the DCMA/ACO Transportation Office for shipping address and instructions.

Q: In order to estimate packaging costs, are all shipments (domestic and foreign) being packaged the same way?

A:

Multiple Pages of RFP: All Item Numbers under "Type/Ship To Code" it has +TBD.

Q: In order to estimate shipping costs, will all shipments go FOB from our facility to Robins AFB or ?

A: Term is FOB Origin so Shipment is paid by Government separately so you don’t need to estimate shipping costs.

AFMC Form 158 7). MIL-STD-2073-1E: Q: Do we use the latest change 3?

A: Latest revision is Change 4. Documents can be found at https://quicksearch.dla.mil/qsSearch.aspx 8). MIL-STD-129R: Q: Do we use the latest change 1?

A: Latest revision is Change 2.

9). Item ID: What item number as these (they are not the FPI Units Size 2, 3, 4 or 5)?

A:

10). Pres (Preservation): There is an "X" for each Item ID. but no further instructions/notes that define the level of preservation (such as 10 - Physical, 20 - Preservation coating only, 30 -....., 40 -......, or 50 -....).

Q: What level of preservation is required?

A: From PD, PP 7.2: Note to Government Buyer: Equipment should be packaged to withstand 30 days outside storage without damage. Drain valves should be left open to prevent accumulation of water and not be capped or plugged. Plastic sheeting should be used inside of crates (i.e., “draped” over components and open at the bottom) to provide temporary protection from water intrusion.
