Q&A for as of 31 March 2016
1. Q: According to the subject posting, a full-term follow-on is anticipated to be procured after the 13-month bridge contract. According to my notes, the Government was considering soliciting via the Training Systems Acquisition (TSA) III contract vehicle. Does your office anticipate utilizing this contract vehicle for the full-term follow-on?
A: The program is in the process of transiting to the Air Force Program Executive Office Agile Combat Support (AFPEO/ACS) Simulators Division office at Wright-Patterson. That office will be in charge of the follow-on effort.
2. Q: I notice you have released an RFI for the 13 month bridge contract for the JSTARS Sustainment. However, the Wright Patterson folks under TSA III also released an RFI with a 31 March 2016 due date. In turn, there are conflicting data points. Can you do me a favor and provide some clarity on this situation?
A: The program is in the process of transiting to the Air Force Program Executive Office Agile Combat Support (AFPEO/ACS) Simulators Division office at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
That office will be in charge of the follow-on effort which based on their RFI is expected to award in 3rd quarter of Calendar Year 2017. The 13 month bridge contract will be awarded out of AFLCMC/HBKAA in Feb 2017 in order to prevent a lapse in service for the JSTARS Program.
The contract will consist of a Seven (7) month basic and the Option to Extend Services Clause up to Six (6) months if required.
