Questions/Answers 6 Apr 11

Question: Do you have any extra detail on item -67 listed as relief valve?

Answer: The following EO should answer the -67 question.

Question: Does item -59 webbing attach to anything?

Answer: The -59 webbing at best answer from Boeing is that it is attached.

Question: Since we are quoting the -501 the identification plates should be the arrow shaped tag and not the rectangular ones. Is that correct? The parts list and the top level drawing say 17G001003-1 and 17G001005-1 which indicates the rectangular.

Answer: Yes, it is the arrow shaped one.

Question: On page 13 of the solicitation in the First Article area I understand the Dimensional portion. What is meant by Continuity, Isolation, and Material Test? If Material Test is referring to material certifications then I understand that but is there some kind of testing that needs to be performed on the raw material?

Answer: Material test is strictly the certification of the metal. Continuity is for any electrical that may be involved, the isolation does not need to be addressed on this.

Question: On drawing 17G450082 the testing for the hydraulic system is described on page 15. I called Tech support at Enerpac and read the testing instructions to him. He said that the equipment is not designed to hold those tolerances. He said that in a controlled laboratory environment that it might could be done but that the ambient air temperature could cause more than 100 psi fluctuation. Maybe the fluctuation is not a big deal as long as there is no leakage. Would we need to contract this testing out to someone?

Answer: As far as the testing goes on the hydraulics, that is your call to sub that out as long as the specs are complied with.
