Question: Solicitation Number: FA8519-12-R-31449 in the area of fuel system upgrade. After reviewing the final PWS the very first statement under 4.2.3 regarding the fuel system reads "The above-ground fuel storage tanks do not meet current EPA regulations and require replacement". The question I have is what specifically do not meet the current EPA regulations?
Can you clarify if it's the fuel tank itself that does not meet EPA regulations or something else?
PWS Paragraph: “4.2.1 Fuel System: The above-ground fuel storage tanks do not meet current EPA regulations and require replacement. On both units, the fuel pump and motor (see TO 33D7-50-885-4, pp 2-275, p/n 1424M27G01) require replacement. The fuel tank control motor on unit 1010 is inoperable (see picture.) The core fuel flow indicator on unit 5009 is inoperable.”
Answer: The fuel tank itself and its connecting devices (valves) do not meet EPA regulation.
