Pre-Proposal Conference- Butler Newell Gap Grinder 17 May 2012 Q1- What is the main focus of this requirement?
A1- The controller is the biggest part of the upgrade. The machine tends to have a mind of its own and weaves in and out. Most of this should be repaired by the controller. The bearings and headstocks are also a concern.
Q2- Can we take pictures of the machine?
A2- The engineer will take some photos and they will be dispursed to all interested vendors.
Q3- Are there drawings available?
A3- There are drawings available to the successful offeror. They are not in a format that can be distributed so they must be viewed on site.
Q4- How do we know how to bid on PWS paragraphs 3.12.1, 3.12.2 and 3.12.4 if they say “inspect, repair, or replace”? The cost difference is substantial.
A4- The requirement will be clarified. Please watch for an updated PWS to be posted.
Q5- The Controller mentioned in the PWS is no longer associated with GE.

A10-Yes
