Questions and Answers
1. Do you want the contractor to make the masks?
Yes
2. What material do we want the masks made from?
We would like the contractor to recommend and choose the material necessary to withstand the high temperature drying process.
3. Can you also give us a rough idea of the size of the current rims so we know how large of measuring devices to bring?
Most of the "Bearing Bore Covers" and "Race Guards" will be 4.0-6.5" in diameter. The Two "Tiebolt Area Covers" will be about 16-20" in diameter. So equipment to measure such should do.
4. Are you looking for injection molds for the paint mask?
We are looking for a source for custom paint masks. How they are made is not an issue. We do want to be able to return to this source in a few years when these wear out and get more of the same kind of mask.
5. Do you currently use paint mask for these processes?
We use some special masks, but for the processes listed they currently are hand masking with tape.
6. Do you have any pictures of the previous tools or rims used for this process?
No we do not have any photos of existing masks. (As said for the areas in question we are hand/tape masking).
7. What kinds of volumes are you looking at for the masks?
We are looking at approximately 50 units of each type, however we do wish to be able to order replacements as units fail.
