About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document related to a mortuary services contract for Hill Air Force Base. The Q&A clarifies specifications for caskets (18 Gauge Steel with Silver Tone Finish or Solid Hardwood with Walnut Finish), urns (Bronze or Hardwood), and transportation requirements.

The document details 15 authorized transportation expenses that the Air Force will pay or reimburse, including funeral coach services, air tray and casket outer shipping containers, transit permits, and delivery of remains through various stages of transport. The Mortuary Officer determines the shipping method within the fifty states and US Territories via commercial air or ground transportation. For overseas shipments, the installation contract funeral home must meet specific requirements for international transport. The document indicates that proposals should be submitted to POCs identified in the original solicitation.
