Sea Containers Q&A
Questions Answers
When I view this solicitation I can only see from page three on, is there anyway you can e-mail me pages one and two?
The first two pages were intentionally not included.
Would you accept 40 high cube containers in addition to the 40 standard containers? High cubes are 1 foot taller. They are 40 ft long x
8 ft wide x 9.5 ft high.
No.
Are the roads paved at the ranges? They are paved to the delivery point.
How far into each range is the delivery point for the containers?
North Range: ½ mile from perimeter gate.
South Range: Approximately 12 miles from Dugway entrance gate.
Will trucks be escorted into the ranges? Trucks do not actually enter the range. The delivery point is at manned compounds.
Are there any applicable taxes for this contract (ie do we need to include sales tax in our pricing?
No, the federal government doesn't pay taxes.
Can your personnel at Hill AFB off load the containers from a flatbed truck?
Delivery is not at Hill AFB. Personnel at each
North and South Range manned area will off-load the containers.
As a contractor can we specify in our agreement how many units we can deliver in a
30 day time period? I see that each order must be fulfilled in 30 days, and if the maximum orders are issued all at once would be difficult to complete.
(Part 1) Yes. (Part 2) The maximum must be specified in an IDIQ type contract.
Do you have an idea of an average order size? 10 – 50. Larger orders would be an exception to the rule. We will probably be purchasing 100 each 40’ early in this fiscal year. Delivery would be able to spread out over several months.
Are you going to purchase approximately (100)
2) ft units and (100) 40 ft units per year, with delivery that could be spread out over several months?
If you look at the SubCLINs, it shows the estimated quantity per year for each type.
When you refer to pad eyes for lifting will a standard lifting corner casting be acceptable?
Yes.
Will there be offloading capabilities at the delivery locations?
Yes.
Will there be an option to adjust price.
Containers can change price pretty regularly.
In order to propose the best price how long would this quote need to be good for?
No, with the exception to the EPA clause included on this solicitation.
This is a 5 year IDIQ type contract.
