About this file

This is a Pre-Bid Request for Information (RFI) Response memorandum from the Department of the Air Force, Headquarters 72 Air Base Wing (AFMC) at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, dated 04 May 2026, regarding Project WWYK200326, Repair Catwalks, B3001.

The memorandum addresses 12 contractor inquiries with government responses to clarify project requirements and scope. Key technical requirements include: installation of a netting system on catwalks delineated on Sheet S-101 to catch dropped items such as laptops, iPads, flashlights, drills, and other handheld tools; the netting system must support items dropped from the catwalk level to ground level. The contractor must coordinate with the F135 Shop user to ensure no ongoing maintenance work occurs during construction and must implement dust and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention measures. Attachment methods for slotted channel framing require consideration of asbestos and chromium concerns on suspended flat surfaces, with testing required if surfaces are disturbed. The project requires design elements from 35% to 100% completion with AERP meetings and design submittals at 35%, 65%, 95%, and 100% stages. No netting is required under Fan Deck Platforms. Debris removal from the netting is required on an as-needed basis. Original as-built drawings are available to contractors. The designated points of contact include Tyron Robinson (Project Manager), Adam Gibspn (Construction Inspector), Joshua Wheeler (CSAG Program Manager), and Hosrow Aframian (Contracting Officer Representative/Structural Engineer).
