Answers to Offerors Question (#2) 7/11/17
Q1: Can the shelves be set at a fixed height or do they have to be adjustable?
A1: The shelves must be adjustable.
Q2: What is the weight capacity of each shelf?
A2: The shelves must be able to hold from up to 75 pounds.
Q3: What is the height off the floor for the top shelf?
A3: 1222mm (48.11 inches)
Q4: The specifications call for 28mm steel pipe. In the US metals industry, metric pipe is pretty unheard of. This also effects the fittings since one would have to find metric pipe fittings also. However, converted to inches, that would be 1.102". 3/4" schedule 40 pipe measures 1.05" nominal outside diameter. The pipe and fittings for 3/4" schedule 40 are very common and would be much less costly. Would this be acceptable?
A4: The wall thickness of the metal piping used in our kitting carts is 23 guage. The Government does not care what unit of measure is used, so long as the metal tubes are of similar diameter and weight to the specifications listed in the solicitation.
