Question and Answers

27 July 2016 Page 1 of 1

1. Where does the electrical need to be brought back to?

Answer: The Contractor is required to demo the electrical back to the source. So that includes the conduit, wires, and plugging the hole in the ceiling where the conduit penetrates the dock ceiling. The source is a breaker disconnect located in the dock at floor level close to the big hangar door.

2. It states that the material is considered hazardous. What are the required steps before we can torch cut on the bridges?

Answer: Since Tinker is disposing of the cranes the contractor will not have to worry about disposal. The company will need to supply their personnel with PPE to meet their companies safety standards. The hazardous materials that maybe present on the cranes, would be dry residues from the painting process. The cranes may have lead based paint and/or build-up of coatings containing hexavalent chromium. The cranes will be cut outside of the hangar on the ramp. Any steps required to cut the cranes will be in accordance with the Contractor’s safety standards.

Air monitoring required and is abatement required before demo can begin ?

Answer: As long as there is no other work going or Tinker personnel in the hangar there is no need for Air Monitoring and Abatement.

3. I have not seen any wording on bid bonds or bonding required?

Answer: No bid bonds or performance and payment bonds required

4. Can the winning bidder get into the building for a day with a a lift to look over the cranes before the 3 day removal is scheduled?

Answer: All work in the dock must be completed during the 3 day window. Any scheduled inspections before that window will need to be completed with an aircraft in the dock from the ground. Lift operation will not be permitted around the aircraft.

5. What training specifically applies to this project?

Answer: All the training listed in the PWS.

Will that training take place at tinker or online?

Answer: Tinker: The training will be accomplished by our OC ALC/OBCB post award office, it is done with a printed power point presentation and usually takes around 15 min.
