Text version

The government received the following question:

How long has the NSN 1680-00-621-0773, PN 5-84049-13, KC135 Flap Assembly Balls Screw components been in service since the last overhaul/replacement.

The government answer:

The government is unable to provide this information to the contractor. There could be an issue that arises and causes a part to fail and need to be repaired in a year or there could be parts that come off the aircraft after having no issues their entire lifetime.

These components don’t have serial numbers that allow them to be individually tracked through their lifetime in order to obtain that type of information. For this reason, it is impossible to give an accurate estimate on how long the NSN 1680-00-621-0773 has been in service between overhauls.

File details come from the government source that posted it.
