About this file
The document is a Vendor Questions and Answers file for a federal contract opportunity for washer and dryer rental and maintenance at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. The solicitation (FA810125R0008) requires a contractor to lease and maintain 70 single top-load electric washers and 80 single electric dryers in dormitory laundry rooms over a 5-year period. Key details include a current contract value of $58,860 annually with optional years totaling $294,300, and the previous contract number FA810120P0014. The procurement is a small business set-aside with a firm fixed price structure. Contractors are responsible for machine maintenance, including bi-annual dryer vent cleaning, and must be insured against potential equipment damage. The machines will be commercial-type units located in common laundry areas, not individual rooms, and the government will not be responsible for machine damage beyond normal wear and tear.

Vendor Questions/Answers:
1. I have a question regarding the solicitation for the washer and dryer rental and maintenance. In 1.2 of the PWS, it states that the requirement is for the lease and maintenance of 70 single top load electric washers and 80 single electric dryers.
However, in section 1.3.2 it gives the height and width measurements of the space for the electric dryers as if you are suggesting that these will be stack electric dryers.
Can you confirm if this building requires single electric dryers or stack electric dryers? Also, is there a building list with the totals for each building available.
a. It will be all single dryers. The previous contract had stackable dryers but will be replaced with singles. See attachment for building list.
2. The solicitation specifies "Commercial, standard top-loading (front-loading stackable where combinations required)." May you please clarify the quantity of each type of front-loading and stackable washers needed to fulfill the contract?
a. All washers will be commercial standard top loading washers.
3. Is vent cleaning required in this contract? If so, how often?
a. 1.5.7.1.5. Dryer Vent Cleaning. The Contractor shall bi-annually vacuum to remove all lint build up inside the dryer cabinet and clean the exhaust vent from start to finish. For the purposes of this contract the starting point of the exhaust vent is at the dry lint screen and the finish is where the vent terminates on the interior of the building. The Contractor shall remove and clean the dryer exhaust vents at a minimum once every six (6) months or when buildup of lint is present. Remove any accumulated lint from thermostat and from blower to maintain proper airflow to avoid overheating. If the contractor notices buildup of lint at the connection point of the vent exhaust and the wall after he/she has cleaned out the exhaust vent, the contractor shall notify the COR to report the buildup condition.
4. Who is responsible for damage to the machines? An example would be if a resident rips off the door of a machine.
a. In the past, if machines were found to be damaged beyond normal wear and tear.
Contractors would have to submit REA to CO for reimbursement.
b.
5. Are the machines protected by insurance in the case of building fire, water, or electrical damage?
a. Contractor should be insured. Government will not be responsible.
6. Will these units be in an open laundry room or places inside individual rooms.
a. Machines will be in laundry rooms throughout dorms. Not individual rooms.
7. The solicitation specifies "Commercial, standard top-loading (front-loading stackable where combinations required)." May you please clarify the quantity of each type of front-loading and stackable washers needed to fulfill the contract?
a. 70 single top load electric washers and 80 single electric dryers. All commercial type.
8. Is there a current incumbent performing service? If so, what is the current contract award?
a. $58,860 a year with optional 4 years totaling $294,300 for 5 years
9. If not brand new, could you please provide the current / previous contract number?
a. FA810120P0014
