About this file
This document is a Question and Answer (Q&A) related to a Request for Quote (RFQ) / Solicitation for a DAFL Multi-Type Book Point Plan. The solicitation is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items to procure a book point plan for books requested throughout the year by the Department of the Air Force Libraries worldwide. The requirement is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS 513130. The Point Plan must provide books in hardback, paperback, uncovered, and covered, and in audio formats to support 75 base libraries under one account. Vendors must provide pricing on a purchase point plan basis, as the libraries will use allocated points to select books throughout the contract year. The solicitation includes details on the period of performance, submission requirements, and other standard federal contracting terms. The Q&A addresses questions related to the number of libraries, annual budget, lot requirements/points per month, and pricing considerations.

DAFL MULTI-TYPE BOOK POINT PLAN Q&A
1.) Please advise the total number of base libraries. The solicitation states the point plan must support 75 base libraries however the product characteristics state books will be shipped to 115 libraries.
Number of libraries shipped to is 75 and not 115
2.) Please specify the annual budget for all libraries. We are unable to disclose this information
3.) Can the lot requirement be defined or could you provide the points/month? Approximately 12,100 point per month 4.) Could you kindly clarify whether we should base our pricing on a catalog discount or on the services provided within the book plan? Additionally, it's worth noting that pricing for each book or format may vary across different publishers. Furthermore, both bulk orders and single unit orders may entail varying discount rates.
We understand that pricing varies by format and publishers. DAF is wanting a purchase point plan. Vendors have to determine their pricing schedule based on their business model.
Libraries will be using the purchase point plan for books in a variety of formats throughout the contract year. This point plan is for one account with up to 75 sub accounts. The libraries in the sub accounts will each be using their allocated points throughout the contract year to update their library collections to meet customer needs.
