About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document addressing logistics and delivery requirements for shipping musical instruments and equipment to Oslo, Norway for a military tattoo event.

The shipment consists of approximately 6-8 standard 48" x 40" pallets with a total footprint of 10'-13' length, 8' width, and 7' height. Cargo will arrive in Oslo by Monday, August 31st, with preferred delivery directly to Oslo Spektrum (Stenersgata 9, 0184 Oslo, Norway). If that timeline cannot be met, shipment should arrive at Akershus Fortress (Akershus Festning 0150, Oslo, Norway) the previous week for subsequent transfer. Standard pallets may remain onsite throughout the event; initial plastic wrap may be discarded. The Norwegian Military will handle pallet movement and storage, transferring instruments from hotels to pallets at the Fortress on August 11th for return shipment to the US. Return pickup occurs September 12th from the Fortress.

Vendor responsibilities include arranging the ATA Carnet, coordinating unpacking and repacking activities onsite with event personnel, providing cargo insurance (included in pricing), and arranging inside delivery with white glove placement at Oslo Spektrum. Delivery must occur between 08:00-20:00 hours. Temperature-controlled trucking is required, maintaining temperatures between 55-85 degrees Fahrenheit, ideally around 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Unpacking will be performed by vendor support personnel, not the USAF Band.

Questions and Answers

1. Will cargo remain onsite during the event, or is offsite storage required?

Offsite storage is not required. The Norwegian Military will move/store the pallets as needed in Oslo once delivered. If arrival can be guaranteed for Monday, 31 Aug, shipment should be shipped directly to the Spektrum, which is the Norwegian

Military’s preferred option. If that is too narrow of a window, we need to ship to arrive at the Fortress the previous week. The Norwegian Military can then transfer it to the Spektrum. During the Tattoo week it will stay at the Spektrum. Once the

Tattoo has finished, it will be moved to the Fortress where it will remain until

August 11th. The Norwegian Military will provide a van to transfer instruments from the hotel to the pallets at the Fortress at that time. It will ship back to the US from the Fortress.

Spektrum Address: Stenersgata 9, 0184 Oslo, Norway

Standard 48” x 40” pallets are anticipated unless otherwise specified for specialty equipment.
