Solicitation FA704624Q0001 UFR F-22 Model Display Repair and Restoration Q&A.

Updated 12 Jun 24

1. Do we know exactly type of refurbishment will be needed? Blasting, patching, rusting? Etc?

a. We require repainting of the model up to specs mentioned in the PWS, repair of any minor damages (e.g. minor filling of cracks that are not structural), and preventative maintenance of support pole and base including cleaning, sealing of base, and painting of pole support. Please refer to Sections 1.1.1-1.1.4 of the PWS.

2. For paint material, will this take an epoxy, acrylic or automotive paint?

a. The contractor shall use automative paint as referenced in the Performance Work Statement in Section 1.1.3 Repaint the entire surface area using approved materials in the Government approved aesthetics. The contractor shall use an automative, type paint product capable of withstanding local environmental conditions.

3. I am writing to ask you about the preventative maintenance, what the exact work needs to be done for the PM?

a. As stated in section 1.1.4, the expectation at the minimum is that the support pole and base be cleaned, base is sealed, and the pole support painted. Only repair and fortify if needed.
