Casual Dining Concessionaire
16 July 2009
1. I have looked through the solicitation and I have some questions.
I have not registered online at this website www.fedbizopps.gov <http://www.fedbizopps.gov/> , is it necessary, or is it already understood that we intend to answer the Solicitation?
Since all of the dates on the Solicitation are skewed, is there a cutoff date for any questions related to the Solicitation?
The contractor does not have to register at www.fedbizopps.gov; however this is where all changes will be posted. The due date for all questions is 17 July, 2009 4:00PM EST.
2. Page 2 - What is the deal with the dates May 1966? (paragraph B, page 2)
May 1996 reference the last revision date to the clause.
3. Pages 3 to 5 - The percentage is not filled in and was left blank. Is the monthly fee simply a $1,000 fee, since no percentage is listed?
The contractor will pay $1,000.00 per month or the percentage of sales inserted by the contractor; whichever is greatest.
4. The only place I could find in the Solicitation that describes the parameters of the menu is on page 10, paragraph 13. Is that the only place? If I blinked I would have missed it.
The proposed menu and pricing is addressed in Article II, 2 & 15.
5. If a the proposed menu and pricing is accepted and the contract awarded, is it still possible to add new items to the menu in the future, so long as they are approved?
See answer to question 4 above.
6. Can you provide information on basic pricing at the other dining facilities and lounges? How many operational dining rooms do you have? How many casual dining facilities? I assume "Wings Bar and Grill" was the last to occupy that space. Did their contract simply expire, or is there information that you could provide regarding their restaurant traffic or financials or pricing?
Wings Bar and Grill was operated by the Bolling Club, it was never a concessionaire. Light food items such as appetizers were served. The club serves lunch on a daily basis in one other dining area, however, it is buffet style.
7. I don't know the owners approach yet, but if desired, can we bring in a lobster tank?
This would have to be discussed with the club manager once the contract is awarded.
8. I know that a lot of people coming to the base sometimes arrive at the airport after all other dining facilities are closed on the base and end up going to Burger King. For the lunch crowd and the crowd coming from out of town, has the base utilized call ahead or online ordering? Successfully?
Call ahead or line ordering has not been used in the past.
9. The restaurant Hours listed on page 9, paragraph 1 are 11:00am to 10:30 pm. What does that mean in terms of service? Is there a last call time for the bar? Do the doors need to be shut by 10:30pm?
The hours of operation are in line with the hours of the Bolling Club’s operating hours. The club is usually locked at 11:00 PM. The 10:30 PM closing time is to allow cleanup before lockup of the Club.
