USAFA Home Station Medical Response Storage Solution Combined Synopsis FA700024Q0054

Questions & Answers

Question 1: In the combined synopsis document description of requirements, it states “which includes removal and disposal of the existing storage components”. Regarding this statement, please clarify:

Question 1a: Is disposal at our discretion (metal recycling, trash, etc.), or does the equipment need to be disposed of in a manner where government re-use is possible?

Answer: Disposal of the existing storage components is at the awardee’s discretion; turn-in to the Government is not required.

Question 1b: Will all government property be removed from the existing storage components prior to our arrival to remove/dispose?

Answer: Yes, the property will be removed from the building prior to the start of the project.

The Government requires three weeks’ notice prior to the Contractor beginning work.

Question 1c: Is the storage components to be removed limited to what is shown in the photos (understanding that some of it is difficult to see as it is behind other items – but generally just the area shown)?

Answer: Yes, all existing storage components to be removed are shown (to the best of our ability) in the pictures provided as Attachment 2 – Existing Storage Unit Pictures. Moveable carts will remain in the Government’s possession.

Question 2: Is there a preference for the material of the shelves – ex. Steel vs. Particle Board, etc.?

Answer: The Government requests the Storage Solution be made of metallic materials to withstand conditions from wet HAZMAT suits and other wet materials. See Attachment 1 – Salient Characteristics and Storage Layout with Diagram. A quote is requested for the material which will best meet all salient characteristics.
