QUESTION:

What are the documents and/or criteria required to be a "certified carpet cleaning technician"?

ANSWER:

Certification of carpet cleaning technicians is performed through industry training sources. All we would require is a copy of the certification.

QUESTION:

Can the requirement for "certified carpet cleaning technicians" be changed to equivalent experience or certified by time of award?

ANSWER:

"Certified by time of award" is acceptable. Equivalent experience would not meet the requirement.

QUESTION:

Also, can the Project manager be a certified carpet cleaning technician in lieu of the cleaners to satisfy this requirement?

ANSWER:

The certification is required for whoever performs the actual cleaning; Paragraph 1.2.2. states "Carpet cleaning shall be accomplished by certified carpet cleaning technicians".

QUESTION:

Appendix A, is this saying that there are only 12 stairs to be cleaned?

ANSWER:

The workload estimate for cleaning stairs is 12 stairs per year. There may be more than 12 stairs total; but 12 is the estimated number we clean per year.

QUESTION:

How many stairs at separate locations?

ANSWER:

The number of stairs per location is irrelevant; the estimated number to be cleaned is 12 per year.

QUESTION:

ANSWER:

All workload estimates are derived from historical data and are captured on an annual basis (not monthly). The workload estimate for emergency cleaning is 12 MAN HOURS (not 12 each) per year.

QUESTION:

QUESTION:

Is the 550000 Sq Ft to be cleaned more than once during the year? If so how often and starting when?

ANSWER:

550,000 square feet is the annual requirement of carpet to be cleaned. If the questions is whether some areas are cleaned more than once during year; the answer is yes, some areas are, such as the Child Development Center, Child Care Center, Youth Center, etc. Other areas are only cleaned once during the year. The only requirement that is recurring on a monthly basis is the Child Development Center, Child Care Center, and the Youth Center. Cleaning requirements would be identified upon contract award.
