Construct and Install F35 Sun Shades – FA6675-23-R-0001a
Responses to Offeror RFI Questions and Clarifications
Q1 Confirm Pavement Marking & Tie-down Location.
At the site walk on Thursday June 8, 2023, we observed that aircraft pavement markings and tie-downs had already been installed, prior to the design of the aircraft shade canopies. This could cause incompatibility with the shade canopies if the dimensions don’t match exactly.
Please provide as-built plans of the pavement markings and tie-downs with dimensions in order that the shade canopies may be designed to match.
See Tie Down Locations attachment.
Q2 Manufacturer's Qualifications - Load Values
Spec. Section 13.34.19
1.6.3 Manufacturer’s Qualifications
A list of loads is provided, a through g, but no-load values are given. Is the manufacturer to determine these loads using the specified codes or does the military have specific requirements?
SECTION 13 34 19:
1.6.3 Manufacturer’s Qualification’s
Provide engineering services by an authorized currently licensed engineer in the geographical area where construction will take place, having a minimum of four years’ experience as an engineer knowledgeable in building design analysis, protocols, and procedures for the "Metal Building Systems Manual" (MBMA MBSM); ASCE 7-16, the building code in the geographic area where the construction will take place and ASTM E1592.Sunshade structure shall comply with the requirements of UFC 3-301-01.
Q3 Single Source - Light Gauge Material
1.6.5 Single Source
Agate designs the entire system but manufactures only the primary framing material. Light gauge material is manufactured to our specifications by outside component manufacturers in accordance with the specifications. Is this acceptable?
1.6.5 Single Source
Obtain primary and secondary components and structural framing members, each type of metal roof, clips, closures, and other accessories from the standard products of the single source from a single manufacturer to operate as a complete system for the intended use.
The 1.6.5 Single source reads that each of the separate components should be derived from a sole source. i.e., All roofing clips should be of the same type and manufacture.
Q4 Surface-Burning Characteristics
1.6.9 Surface-Burning Characteristics.
We assume this is not applicable to this project.
Government agrees that Spec section:1.6.9 Surface burning characteristics can be eliminated from the specs.
Q5 Fastener Concealment
1.6.10 Fabrication
d. “Conceal Fasteners. . .where possible.” The specified panels have exposed fasteners, so this is not possible. (Panels specified in 1.4.5 as manufacturer’s standard lap-seam metal roof panels.) Eliminate all references to concealed fasteners as it is not applicable to this type of panel.
Government agrees to eliminate references to concealed fasteners as it is not applicable to these types of panels.
Q6 Building System Warranty
1.10.1 Building System Warranty
Is the 20-year no dollar limit warranty necessary for this project?
Note the structure is only a roof only canopy. Consider eliminating the warranty or eliminate the 20-year no dollar limit.
20-year warranty will remain in place as stated with all repair times extended to be within 30 days from initial notification.
Q7 Roof System Weather-Tightness Warranty
1.10.2 Roof System Weather-Tightness Warranty
Is this applicable or necessary with a lap-seam roof on an open canopy? Eliminate this requirement.
Roof system weather tightness warranty will remain in place as stated with all repair times extended to be within 30 days from initial notification.
Q8 Structural Steel Primer
2.1.12 Primer
SSPC-Paint 15, Type 1, red oxide.
Please clarify that the only finish for the structural steel is the red oxide primer. Typically, we are requested to paint the flight line canopies a light stone.
2.3 STRUCTURAL FRAMING
2.3.1 General
Clean all framing members to remove loose rust and mill scale. Provide 1 shop coat of primer to an average dry film thickness of 1 mil according to SSPC SP 2. Balance of painting and coating procedures must conform to SSPC Paint 15 and SSPC Painting Manual. Color to match metal panel As mentioned above, that color should be a light stone.
Q9 Secondary Framing Finish
2.3.3 Secondary Framing
Is a galvanized finish in lieu of painted acceptable? Allow galvanized secondary framing finish;
it is superior to painted.
All framing should be painted to match the rest of the structure, in this case a light stone color.
Q10 Anti-Perching Devices
2.3.3 Secondary Framing
j. Anti-Perching devices.
Please specify acceptable items. Bird Spikes and if yes, describe require surfaces……. rafters, purlins, bracing, etc. Or perhaps a bird netting would provide complete protection. If bird netting is acceptable, please specify the maximum allowable hole in the netting.
Anti-perching should be installed on all surfaces where birds could perch.
This should include the framing, purlins, bracing, and rafters.
Q11 Steel Sheeting Profile & Depth
2.4.1 Steel Sheet
18-gauge with specified profile and depth as indicated. Profile and depth not indicated. 18-gauge not available in a standing seam panel configuration.
Please specify profile and depth. (These must be compatible) Also, we would recommend 24- or 26-gauge panels, and nothing heavier than 22-gauge as anything heavier is expensive, difficult to source, and a long lead time.
24 ga. panels will be acceptable as long as they meet the wind load, load, support, and other specs.
With the 24 ga. panels will there be the need for additional bracing/support under the panels?
Q12 Steel Sheeting Finish
2.4.2 Finish
All panels are to receive a factory-applied polyvinylidene fluoride of Kynar 500, etc. Further down in b. Prime Coating: “A base coat of epoxy paint.”
PROPOSED SOLUTION (If applicable:
Eliminate base coat of epoxy paint. This is incorrect.
Agreed, Eliminate base coat of epoxy paint on the panels.
Q13 Exposed Fastener Material & Grade
2.6.2 Exposed Fasteners
“To be corrosion resistant coated aluminum compatible with the sheet panel...”
2.6.3 Screws
Same as 2.6.2 Exposed Fasteners above.
Please eliminate aluminum and specify either carbon or stainless steel to be compatible with the steel roof sheeting.
Stainless steel fasteners shall be used to be compatible with the steel roof sheet.
Q14 Roof Attachment Clips
2.6.5 Attachment Clips
There would be no attachment clips unless this were a standing seam roof.
The line for attachment clips can be eliminated.
Q15 Roof Panel Installation - Thermal Movement
3.4 Roof Panel Installation
“Work must allow for thermal movement, etc. This is not provided for with this type of panel nor is it necessary for the short roof run of these roofs. Please eliminate need for thermal movement as it is not necessary nor applicable to this type of roof panel.
Government agrees to eliminate need for thermal movement as it is not necessary nor applicable to this type of roof panel.
Q16 Eave Gutter Requirements
3.7.3 Gutter and Downspouts
Other than valley gutter between the adjoining units, is eave gutter required at eaves that don’t adjoin one another? If so, are downspouts required or does the water just exit the open end of the eave gutter? It’s rare we are required to install downspouts on flight line canopies as they become more of a maintenance issue.
The design and installation will include down spouts.
Q17 AE101 & AE102 Canted Canopies
Drawings:
Pages AE101 and AE102 show canted canopies that include one rafter per parking space that has no column at one end. How is it intended that this be supported? May an additional column for support be added? Allow an additional column to be provided. If not, please specify what’s required to support the rafter end so all bidders bid the same thing.
AE101 & AE102 General Note 2.
MANUFACTURER TO DESIGN AND ENGINEER STRUCTURAL MEMBER SIZES,
CONNECTIONS AND DETAILS. SEE SPECIFICATION FOR DELEGATED DESIGN
REQUIREMENTS.
If addition bracing, columns, or support is required for the structure then it should be included in the design.
Q18 Conduit Raceways
Conduit raceways Specifications show IMC as Option at 26.20.2.2.2 Drawings Sheet EL 1-3 refers to GRC on lighting raceways.
Per NFPA 70 – IMC conduit is allowed in both Class 1 (Div-1 and Div-2) locations.
Please clarify if the use of IMC is acceptable. There is a substantial savings to the Government to allow IMC per code in lieu of GRC.
GRS Conduit will be used where specified on the drawings and in the specifications.
Q19 Red Obstruction Lights
Neither the plans nor the drawings reflect the red obstruction light that is typically located on the airfield corner.
If the Government desires a red obstruction light, please provide the information on the make and model light fixture.
Red Obstruction lights will not be required for this project.
Q20 Future Panels and Power Junction Boxes
Clarification that the Panel Junction Boxes (12x12x6 4X) Shown on drawings will only be required for Panel “A” – Panel “B” Panel “B” Plans show detail to provide boxes for the future MPZ panels.
Clarification that feeds from future 480 panels to future MPZ panels is not included in this phase.
Please note that we would highly recommend that the future panels and mini power zone panels be ordered immediately if they are required to be installed prior to 7/1/24. Due to the 4X rating, this gear has an extremely long lead time.
Panel Junction Boxes (12x12x6 4X) Shown on drawings will only be required for Panel “A” – Panel “B” Panel “C” Feeds from future 480 panels to future MPZ panels are not included in this phase.
Q21 Bid Bond and Financial Resources
Standard Form 1442 has the “b. An offer guarantee” box checked required a bid bond.
“Under section C.) Bid Bond See FAR Clause 52.228-1” Bid Guarantee requires a 20% Bid Bond. “Under section f.) Financial Resources: Offerors shall submit a completed financial capability letter from their financial institution. In addition, Offerors shall submit a letter from the bonding company confirming bonding capacity and maximum dollar threshold. The letter will be used by the Contracting Officer’s determination of responsibility.”
A 20% Bid Bond will be required at time of award. Offerors must be able to demonstrate to the Government their financial ability to meet this requirement. A letter of bonding capability or banking letter with sufficient resources can be used for this requirement.
Q22 Existing Flightline Concrete Conditions
While attending last week’s site walk it was noticeable how much new concrete has been installed in conjunction with the new sunshades. Please provide the thickness of the existing concrete we will encounter during the process of concrete coring’s for the new ground wells.
Knowing how thick the existing flightline concrete is will aid in providing the Government competitive pricing on concrete coring for the new ground wells.
In the project location there is variance in the thickness of the concrete.
There will be between 15" and 24" of concrete in the area.
Q23 Windsocks and Metal Sunshade number signs
Document 00 01 15 Page 2 Supplementary Instructions to the Offerors
3. Installation of two (2) each Government provided windsock assemblies on the new sunshades.
4. Design and Installation of all-weather metal sunshade number signs containing minimum 12” high lettering.
Please provide information on the two Government provided windsock assemblies and where they are to be mounted?
Please provide information on the all-weather metal sunshade number signs containing 12” high lettering?
This information has been incorporated into the amendment.
Q24 Permits and Fees
Document 00 01 15 Page 2 Supplementary Instructions To Offerors
“10. Any and all fees for permits, disposal fees, testing, geotechnical testing, and escort fees.
“The statement above is a very general description and covers a wide range of information.
Please define what permits costs the Contractor is required to pay and the associated costs.
Please define what testing is the responsibility of the Contractor to pay.
Please define what geotechnical testing is required by the Contractor if we are directed to post anchor the new columns to the flightline concrete.

The Government is not aware of any permits required for this project.
Q26 Sunshade End Screen Warranty
1.10.4 Sunshade End Screen Warranty
Furnish manufacturer’s no-dollar-limit warranty for the sunshade end screen. The warranty period is to be no less than 10 years from the date of acceptance of the work and be issued directly to the Government.
There are two major manufacturers of 80% sunscreen in the United States. Unfortunately, both manufacturers offer only a 5-year sunscreen warranty.
Provide available manufacture warranties in proposal for Government review.
Q27 Field Applied Electrical Paint
Section 26 20 00
3.4 Field Applied Painting
“Paint electrical equipment as required to match finish of adjacent surfaces or to meet the indicated or specified safety criteria. Where field painting of enclosures for panelboards, load centers or the like is specified to match adjacent surfaces.
Electrical light fixtures, panel boards and transformers come from the manufacture painted.
Please clarify if the Government wants the Contractor to paint the electrical fixtures, panel boards, transformers, and the exposed electrical conduit to match the Sunshade. This can be done but at a greatly added cost to the Government.
Government agrees to remove the spec to paint the electrical fixtures, panel boards, transformers, and the exposed electrical conduit to match the Sunshades.
Q28 Lightning and Grounding
Please confirm schedule 80 1" PVC shall be used to protect the down lead conductor whips or any conductor whips within 6' of grade?
Typical standard code is PVC conduit is installed 1' below grade and 6' above grade to protect the down lead conductor from getting severed, smashed.
or frayed at near ground level by personnel, storms, or equipment.
4.9.11.2 The down conductor shall be
protected for a mini‐ mum distance of 6 ft (1.8 m) above grade level.
See Sheet EP 501 Detail E3 - LP Typical Grounding for below grade.
Above Grade - AFI32-1065 A4.1.8. Any down conductors subject to mechanical damage or displacement must be protected with a protective molding or covering for a minimum of 6 feet (1.83 meters) above grade.
Q29 Lightning and Grounding
Please confirm all 10' x 3/4" copper clad steel ground rods being used as the lightning protection's ground electrode system, shall be installed a minimum of 24" from the steel columns or foundations as shown on plan EP501, Detail E3?
All 10' x 3/4" copper clad steel ground rods being used as the lightning protection's ground electrode system, shall be installed a minimum of 24" from the steel columns or foundations.
Q30 Lightning and Grounding
Please confirm individual UL stamped 10' x 3/4" copper clad steel ground rods will be sufficient to be used as the ground electrode system alone, without the presence of a ground ring? Until we confirm with earth resistance testing. Typically, the ground rods are installed and tested for an earth resistance of less than 25 ohms before they are connected to the down lead conductors. If the ground rods read high resistance (over 25 ohms of a fall of potential test), then at that time we determine to add an additional 10' ground rod section or a nearby ground rod or a ground ring ground electrode system. But until we confirm the individual ground rods are not sufficiently reading, the ground rods are approved to use. Not requiring additional ground rod sections or a ground ring until the individual ground rods are proven to read high resistance. Which would be a change order, as we do not know if the ground rods will read high or low resistance until they are installed.
The UL stamped 10' x 3/4" copper clad steel ground rods will be sufficient to be used as the ground electrode system alone, without the presence of a ground ring.
Q31 Lightning and Grounding
Please confirm a ground ring electrode is not going to be immediately required until after we install individual ground rods and test their earth resistance and it reads over 25 ohms?
The purpose of these shade structures is shaded parking, as an ordinary structure. They are not over 60' in height nor is their purpose for explosives or flammables containment. So, these shade structures do not require a ground ring at this time in CLP's interpretation.
A ground ring electrode is not going to be immediately required.
Q32 Lightning and Grounding
Please confirm the shade structure's purpose is for shaded parking and not for containing explosives or flammable vapor or gases. Which will not requiring the additional work the standards require for those higher risk structures.
AFI 32-1065 requires any system must also conform to the NFPA 780. The NFPA 780 has chapters 4-6 for ordinary structures. An additional chapter 7 for structures containing flammable vapors, liquids, or gases. An additional chapter 8 for structures containing explosives. Chapter 7 and 8 have additional grounding and bonding requirements that CLP does not interpret as required for these shade structures.
The shade structure's design purpose is for shaded parking.
Q33 Lightning and Grounding
Please confirm a commercial 3rd party inspection company, whose sole work is lightning protection will be sufficient as listed in the specification 26 41 00, page 3, section 1.4.4 and in the AFI 32-1065? The NFPA does not have a requirement for this.
The 3rd party inspection company I will use is qualified to provide testing, inspections and write a letter of certification. Lightning System's Consulting. They are more cost effective than the competitors and they will actually perform on site resistance testing and records with their certification. Not just a visual check.
The 3rd party installer must meet the requirements stated in 26 41 00 SEC 1.4.4 1.4.4 Lightning Protection System Inspection Certificate Provide certification from a commercial third-party inspection company whose sole work is lightning protection, stating that the lightning protection system complies with NFPA 780 and AFI 32-1065. Third party inspection company cannot be the system installer or the system designer. Alternatively, provide a UL Lightning Protection Inspection Master Label Certificate for each facility indicating compliance to NFPA 780 and AFI 32-1065. In either case, AFI 32-1065 takes precedence over NFPA 780, whether or not it is more stringent. Inspection must cover every connection, air terminal, conductor, fastener, accessible grounding point and other components of the lightning protection system to ensure 100% system compliance. This includes witnessing the tests for the resistance measurements for ground rods with test wells, and for continuity measurements for bonds. It also includes verification of proper surge protective devices for power, data, and telecommunication systems.
Random sampling or partial inspection of a facility is not acceptable.
Q34 Lightning and Grounding
Please confirm a test well will be required at all down lead conductor and ground rod locations.
A test well will be required at all down lead conductor and ground rod locations.
Q35 Lightning and Grounding
Please confirm a commercially made traffic rated test well with a thick PVC well wall and a cast iron lid made by a lightning protection manufacturer will be sufficient for the ground rod locations. We use these test wells in concrete to prevent any cracking or displacement. They are made to be placed in concrete. Concrete or hard material use for well walls can break, crack, or displace. 12" x 12", made by ALT in USA.
CLP typically uses the traffic rated test wells made by a lighting protection equipment manufacturer. They have a cast iron lid and a thick 3/4" PVC well wall to accommodate any fluctuation or settling, preventing any cracks or damages.
A commercially made traffic rated test well with a thick PVC well wall and a cast iron lid made by a lightning protection manufacturer will be sufficient for the ground rod locations.
Q36 Lightning and Grounding
Typically, the purpose of installing a test well is to access the ground rod or ground electrode and disconnect the ground electrode from the down lead to perform the isolated roof continuity resistance testing that is required. Please confirm that mechanical connections will be accepted inside the test wells, this way we can disconnect for testing. Any other underground connections will be exothermically welded.
A mechanical connection will be accepted inside the test wells for testing. They must be accessible to disconnect down conductor for testing.
Q37 Lightning and Grounding
Please confirm CLP can design and install solid down lead conductors for the shade structure's route and connection to ground? We will still bond the columns per NFPA. Instead of using the steel columns in lieu of cables, which increases the grounding scope.
This is important because we can space the down leads up to 100' apart using this method.
Which means fewer ground electrodes, fewer cuts into the concrete and fewer test wells. If we use the steel columns as the down leads, we have to install them ever 60'. So basically, 69 if we use the steel and 42 if we use solid cable. We still have to bond the steel columns, but we reduce the ground rods by 27, the test wells by 27 and the concrete cuts by 27.
Due to the absence of a ground ring, we will proceed with the system as proposed. Please clarify the use of "solid" down conductor.
Q38 Lightning and Grounding
Please confirm CLP can utilize the perimeter of each overall row section and consolidate the zone of protection design to the NFPA 780? As suggested in Note 1.
Currently the design is drawn for each shade structure but since they are connected in 3 separate rows, CLP can redesign the zone of protection to NFPA 780. Utilizing the overall row's perimeters and correcting the spacing that is over 25' between air terminals and significantly lowering the number of cable fasteners and feet of conductors needed. This way air terminals are not 29' apart in some areas and 2' apart in other areas.
Government will proceed with the government submitted proposed design.
Q39 Lightning and Grounding
Please confirm the desired placement of the test wells, 30" from the steel columns, 36" from the steel columns or closer. I understand the details show that the ground rod should be placed 24" from the foundation. Which will push the test well out a minimum of 30" from the columns.
Install the test wells next to the columns with approval from the base. Note, I do not know what the 3rd party inspector will say but
I do know they are used to seeing the ground electrodes 2' from the structures.
Please verify where the 30" distance is specified. Test well should be centered over the ground rods which should place them min 24" from the structure.
Q40 Lightning and Grounding
Please confirm the desired dimensions for concrete removal that is necessary to install ground rods and test wells in cured existing concrete. Typically, I would cut a 3' long x 14" wide rectangle, perpendicularly out from the steel columns. This will give plenty of space for ground rods, test wells, PVC conduit and molds for exothermically welded connections. Please confirm if a 30" long x 14" wide rectangle is sufficient or if a smaller 2" trench is wanted? Keep in mind the finished look and structural integrity.
Please note the smaller 2" trench cannot be patched back as sufficiently as an actual block cut. With a block, we can dowel the cut edges with #4 rebar, replacing the existing rebars we will damage by cutting the concrete. Then pour back concrete making a neat rectangle patch. With a smaller 2" trench cut, it will be difficult to demo out the cut concrete and we will not be able to install back any rebar, to replace the existing rebars we will have to cut.
(If the ground rod is install a minimum of 24" from the column or foundation as per plans and standards show).
30" X 14" Cut would be acceptable.
Q41 Lightning and Grounding
Installing aluminum components on steel or galvanized steel in outside conditions is approved as typical. Our aluminum components are UL stamped per UL 96A and made by a lightning protection manufacturer in the USA. Please confirm the material composition layout of exposed aluminum on the shade structures from 8' above grade to the roof and copper in PVC from 8' above grade to below grade.
It is important to note copper on steel, wrought iron, aluminum or galvanized steel caused accelerated corrosion in the presence of moisture. Exothermic welding is not the same as the weld is airtight and not moisture. But the electrolytic coupling caused by copper and a dissimilar metal being connected will increase corrosion, resistance, and heat later on. Which is why we only use aluminum on steel outside and copper in PVC, on concrete or in the ground.
Please note our manufacturer does make tinned copper, which will not have the accelerated corrosion issue.
The material composition layout of exposed aluminum on the shade structures from 8' above grade to the roof and copper in PVC from 8' above grade to below grade is acceptable.
Q42 Lightning and Grounding
Please confirm surge protection is needed on the incoming electrical service entrance or communications if any?
Surge protection is recommended for a complete lightning protection system. For electric service entrances and communications, if any.
The electrical service is not included in this project.
Q43 Does the Metal Building manufacturer or fabricator have to be a member of the Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA)? The specifications state that final design must be coordinated with the MBMA and Contractor.
Contractor does not need to be a member MBMA, although the specifications provided in the MBMA manual will need to be adhered to.
Q44 Are the steel canopies required to be fabricated and provided by a metal building system manufacturer or can the steel canopies be fabricated in a traditional steel fabrication shop that is not a metal building system manufacturer? There is a significant difference between these two approaches.
All fabrication will be required to meet the referenced specs and the stamped engineered design submitted by the contractor.
Q45 The specifications require a 20-year, No-Dollar-Limit, Building System Warranty from the metal building manufacturer. Is this a true requirement?
This is the correct requirement.
Q46 The specifications state, “Sunshade designer shall confirm that pavement is adequate for structure base anchorage”. Since the design analysis is completed after the bids are submitted, will there be additional compensation for additional concrete structural work if required?
All concrete surfaces are a minimum of 15”. We do not foresee any additional structural work needed at this time.
Q47 Explosion-proof installations.
The National Electric Code (NEC) section 513 is slightly more lenient on explosion-proof installations than what is shown for this project. This may be because we are following a specification. However, the overall project cost may be reduced if the NEC requirements are more closely followed. Is there opportunity to change this requirement?
The provided specs shall be followed as the NEC is a list of MINIMUM specs for electrical. Our specs are usually more stringent by design.
Q48 EP501, E3. EP104, EP105, EP106
This detail shows the shades being tied into a ground loop. EP104-106 shows the ground terminating at a ground rod.
What is the intended design? Is the ground loop required?
Ground loop is not required for this project and the LPS will terminate at a ground rod.
Q49 EP104, EP105, EP106 Note 10.
"CONNECTIONS TO GROUND RODS OR GROUND LOOP CABLE SHALL BE MADE AT
APOINT NOT LESS THAN 18" BELOW GRADE AND 24" AWAY FROM
FOUNDATIONWALL. ACTUAL SITE CONDITIONS MAY NECESSITATE SLIGHT
ALTERATIONS OF AIRTERMINAL AND GROUND LOCATIONS"
Is this note requiring that we saw cut a hole big enough to install a ground rod 2 feet away from each column? Is the ground rod to be installed outside/away from the footprint of the sunshade?
If so, how deep?
The ground rod will need to be installed a minimum of 2’ from the structure. The concrete is a minimum of 15” around the shelters. A combination of coring and saw cutting can be used for the test well, ground rod, and conductor.
Q50 EP501, E1
The detail shows a ground rod test well. These are not shown on EP104-EP106.
How many are required, and at what locations?
All LPS ground rods shall be located with a test well.
Q51 EP101, EP102, EP103
"ALIS KIOSK (FUTURE) FURNISHEDBY GOVERNMENT AND INSTALLEDAS PER

FACILITIESREQUIREMENTS
DOCUMENT-SECTION 1: WEAPON SYSTEMCHARACTERISTICS. DOCUMENTNO.
2PJG00001, REV
Is this document available for distribution?
Currently there are not any ALIS Kiosks to be installed.
Q52 Can the lighting & grounding plan layout be redesigned and still meet specifications to provide more cost savings?
Must meet all specified specs and requirements.
Q53 How many conduits are required for the Security line? Can this line be shared with other lines?
Per EP601 Note E1 -Security One line diagram 2-3” conduits with pull rope are required. These conduits will NOT be shared with other lines.
Q54 How many conduits are required for the Communications line? Can this line be shared with other lines?
Per EP601 Note C1 -Communications One line diagram 2-3” conduits with pull rope are required. These conduits will NOT be shared with other lines.
Q55 How many conduits are required for the Power lines? Can this line be shared with other lines?
R. DATED 10DEC 2020." TYP"
A specific number of electrical conduits is not required. UFC, NEC, and other regulations shall be followed for conduit fill, varying voltage, and sizing. Electrical conduit will ONLY be used for electrical. Separate conduits will be used for different voltages. i.e., Do not mix 480-volt conductors with 120 volt conductors in the same conduit or boxes.
