FA5709-14-R-0013 One Year Reefer Maintenance Service Solicitation
Interested Bidder Question and Answers
Question #1 There are different statements through the PWS about the frequency of the preventive maintenance and cleaning service to be provided to 17 reefers. Below are some statements from the PWS. According to these statements, it is not clear whether we will provide weekly, monthly or 3 times a month servicing to the reefers. Please clarify.
"A running inspections schedule shall be developed with a minimum frequency of three (3) visits a month and shall include a minimum of one (1) scheduled maintenance visit in a one (1) month period."
"1.1.4. Running inspections and routine cleaning shall be accomplished once every seven (7) calendar days."
"Scheduled Maintenance - Periodic prescribed inspections and servicing of equipment in accordance with commercial/industry practices. Periodic inspection and servicing shall take place once every month."
Answer #1 This contract consists of Preventative Maintenance (PM) to be performed on all 17 reefer units. The PM's will be accomplished per manufacturer’s recommendations. The contractor will submit to us, their PM schedule, and the PM tasks (specifically listing their Preventative Maintenance steps, per Reefer Unit).
For example;
Week 1 (July 1 - 7) -Preventative Maintenance of Reefers 1; 2; 3; 4; 5 and the performance of any repair work as required.
Week 2 (July 8-14) -Preventative Maintenance of Reefers 6; 7; 8; 9; 10 and the performance of any repair work as required.
Week 3 (July 15 - 23) -Preventative Maintenance of Reefers 11; 12; 13; 14; 15 and the performance of any repair work as required.
Week 4 (July 24 - 31) -Preventative Maintenance of Reefers 16; 17 and the performance of any repair work as required.
Preventative Maintenance properly scheduled and spread out through the month, will meet the requirements in the PWS.
