About this file

This is a Salient Characteristics document for a packaging production machine procurement. The document specifies minimum functional and technical requirements for an automated system designed to produce custom cardboard boxes and packaging.

The machine must be equipped with one automatic transversal slitting and/or scoring unit capable of performing all transversal operations, plus longitudinal slitting and scoring units with automatic adjustment features. The system shall support perforated creasing for boxes with perforated fold lines and include a cardboard feeding system with a 1CL unwinding rack. The side-by-side (SbS) feeder shall accommodate single fanfold widths from 400–1,400 mm or two fanfolds of 400–970 mm each with a minimum 30 mm spacing between them. The machine must accommodate boxes with minimum dimensions of 150 mm in length, width, and height, and maximum dimensions of 1,220 mm length × 1,020 mm width × 1,020 mm height. The control panel and production management software shall support management of up to 20 parametric packaging models, creation and archiving of customized packaging solutions, storage of customer-specific designs, management of up to 5 production lists, network connectivity for remote data transfer, production reporting, and remote SQL queries. The machine shall provide 20 standard box models pre-installed and include software for creation and saving of custom designs directly on the machine. Box remote management software shall be available for installation on customer PCs with requirements including a FULL HD monitor, 8 GB RAM, Windows 10, TeamViewer 13, and Ethernet connectivity to enable remote viewing and editing of production programs and box archives. The system shall include barcode management capabilities with a wireless barcode reader supporting two modes (static item identification and dynamic production order identification) with compatibility for EAN 13, Interleaved 2 of 5, Code 32, Code 39, Code 128, and GS1-128 standards. Network integration shall support remote SQL queries, assisted help desk support, and compatibility with Supplier Cloud for advanced reporting and remote management. The electrical requirement specifies 400V/50Hz European voltage with CE marking certification.

Salient Characteristics_Rev 1

PACKAGING PRODUCTION MACHINE

Configuration and Working Units:

The system should be equipped with one automatic transversal slitting and/or scoring unit, capable of performing all transversal slitting, scoring, and slit-scoring operations.

Provided with longitudinal slitting and scoring units, for longitudinal slitting, scoring, and slit-scoring processes. These units should also feature automatic adjustment for efficient setup and operation.

Creasing:

The machine should support perforated creasing, allowing the production of boxes with perforated fold lines.

Cardboard Feeding System:

Preferably including a 1CL unwinding rack positioned at the rear of the machine, designed to ensure proper unwinding and alignment of cardboard material.

SbS Feeder:

The SbS feeder should allow for the feeding of up to two fanfold piles side by side. Supported preferred fanfold widths are:

Single fanfold: minimum 400 mm, maximum 1,400 mm Two fanfolds: minimum 400 mm, maximum 970 mm each Minimum space between fanfolds: 30 mm Maximum overall width (including space): 1,400 mm

Control Panel and Software:

The system should feature a control panel with production management software, enabling at minimum the following:

Management of up to 20 parametric packaging models Creation and archiving customized packaging solutions Storage of customer-specific box designs Management of up to 5 selectable production lists Connection to the company network for remote data transfer Visualization of production reports and remote SQL queries Archive of cardboard types used by the customer Creation of composite boxes (e.g., boxes with integrated protection) Assisted help desk for troubleshooting Compatibility with Supplier Cloud for QBOX and WEB REPORT integration

Software should be installed on the control panel, allowing users to create and save custom box designs directly on the machine.

Standard Box Models:

The machine, at minimum, should provide 20 standard-box models pre-installed.

Minimum box dimensions and minimum maximum dimensions:

Minimum box dimensions: 150mm Length, width, and height Minimum Maximum dimensions (larger dimensions than these are acceptable): 1220mm Length x 1020mm Width x 1020mm Height.

Box Remote Management Software:

Should be available to be installed on the customer’s PC, offering a user-friendly interface identical to the machine panel, with following minimum requirements:

FULL HD monitor

8GB RAM

Windows 10 TeamViewer 13 and Internet connection Ethernet connection to the machine

It enables the client to remotely view and edit the production program and box archive.

Barcode Management:

The system should be capable of including, or be equipped with, software and a wireless barcode reader for production management via barcode scanning with two working modes available:

Mode A: Barcodes identify items (static codes) Mode B: Barcodes identify production orders (dynamic codes) The barcode reader should preferably be integrated with the packaging machine and supports the following standards: EAN 13, Interleaved 2 of 5, Code 32, Code 39, Code 128, GS1-128.

Network and Support:

The system should be designed for integration with company networks and supports remote SQL queries.

Assisted help desk and compatibility with Supplier Cloud for advanced reporting and remote management should be included.
