About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for Solicitation FA568226QA032 issued by 31 Logistics Readiness Squadron (31 LRS) on 26 May 2026 regarding stackable containers and lids procurement.
The document addresses six key inquiries from potential vendors regarding material specifications and design flexibility. Regarding material composition, the government clarified that while polypropylene was specified, High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) alternatives may be acceptable if samples or examples are provided for evaluation. Black containers are acceptable despite the original dark grey specification. The containers will store various assets including chemical protective equipment in sealed bags, plate carrier vests, and clothing. Screen printing or markings are not required. For sleeve material construction, the government requires strong polypropylene construction suitable for the specified dimensions and load requirements, but does not mandate a specific construction type such as corrugated or tri-laminate polypropylene. Regarding lid and pallet base construction, the government expressed no preference between vacuum-formed and injection-molded processes and specifically recommended that vendors provide samples or pictures of their proposed products to ensure compatibility and avoid storage issues during performance.

SOLICITATION FA568226QA032 - 31 LRS STACKABLE CONTAINERS AND LIDS
Question & Answers – 26 May 2026
Q: This solicitation states that the containers need to be polypropylene, the bins we provide are High-density polyethylene (HDPE). Would this be acceptable?
R: We are not subject experts on this, however, if they can provide an example of what they currently have then that will help. We do not have any requirements stating that we must have containers of this type.
Q: Our bins are black and not dark grey. Is black acceptable?
R: Yes
Q: Could you kindly advise what will you be loading on those Containers?
R: Various assets, mainly chemical protective equipment in sealed bags, plate carrier vests, clothing.
Q: Is screen printing or any markings required on the containers? If so, single color or multi-color?
R: No
Q: Regarding sleeve material: is a specific construction required (corrugated polypropylene, tri-laminate polypropylene, etc.), or is any polypropylene construction acceptable provided it meets the dimensional and load specifications?
R: It needs to be strong sleeve material not flimsy.
Q: For the lid and pallet base: is vacuum-formed construction acceptable, or is injection-molded required?
R: We are not sure about the difference between the two. We kindly suggest the vendors provide samples or pictures of what they are offering. That is the safest way to go about the purchase to avoid storage issues.
