About this file
This document is a detailed technical training course outline for the NASATKA NMSB IIID-E (Electric) Active Vehicle Barrier (AVB) System. The one-day course is designed for low voltage technicians, technologists, or engineers with at least one year of AVB experience, focusing on comprehensive training for operating, maintaining, and servicing the electric active vehicle barrier system. The course covers extensive topics including system overview, accessories and specifications, user interface navigation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and hands-on field training.
Key course components include technical presentations, operational and safety procedures, system diagnostics, component replacement techniques, and practical demonstrations of critical functions such as firmware installation, control board management, actuator settings, and system calibration. Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate valid for an unlimited time, authorizing them to service the AVB system equipment within their own organization. However, the certificate does not qualify them as an authorized service provider outside of being employed by Nasatka Barrier Incorporated or as an Authorized Nasatka Representative.

Course Equipment Synopsis:
The Nasatka NMSB III-D-(E) Active Vehicle Barrier (AVB) system equipment is a highly reliable, proven crash certified active vehicle barrier solution to provide for positive countermeasures to mitigate the potential damage from a vehicle-borne explosive device. The deployment of active vehicle barriers to provide protection to the designated perimeter/checkpoint access-control locations obstructing multiple roadway lanes per Site 5 requirements. The AVB systems utilizes a cycle tested and certified linear actuator to secure each AVB and an encrypted system management technology to monitor, log (record), and control operate each set of AVBs.
Course Objective:
• The NASATKA Technical (Trainer Instructional) course is intended to provide the knowledge and skills needed for a potential instructor, advanced operator and supervisory function of the NASATKA NMSB IIID-E (Electric) – Active Vehicle Barrier System to prepare and teach the course.
• During the NASATKA NMSB IIID-E (Electric) – Active Vehicle Barrier System Technical course, each student will gain practical/hands-on experience: a) in each activity the operators will be expected to perform; and b) in each activity the service technicians will be expected to perform.
• *A trainer who successfully completes the NASATKA NMSB IIID-E (Electric) – Active Vehicle Barrier System train-the-trainer technical course will be authorized to train operators within his/her own organization only. Successful completion of this course does not authorize: 1) the training of operators outside one’s own organization, or 2) the training of service technician(s) outside one’s own organization, 3) the training of additional trainers, outside of one’s own organization.
• This course will prepare operations and technician service maintenance personnel to be familiarized, knowledgeable, and skilled: a) with the daily operational function; b) complete how to perform preventative maintenance; c) diagnose issues and isolate system alarms to main assemblies and / or sub-assemblies; d) repair the system of the NASATKA NMSB IIID-E (Electric) – Active Vehicle Barrier.
