Solicitation FA568225Q8021 - 31 LRS Stackable Containers

Question and Answers

Q: We seek clarification regarding the importation of items from outside Europe. If the contractor sources the goods internationally, will an exemption letter for duties and taxes be provided, or should we include all applicable European duties and taxes in our quotation?

R: If the goods are shipped and invoiced directly to a U.S. military base in Europe, they are typically exempt from European duties and taxes. We will provide the names of the individuals responsible for handling customs formalities at Aviano AB, upon order confirmation and/or in due course to ensure a smooth process.

Q: Could you kindly advise on the Maximum loading capacity in kg?

R: The max loading capacity is 400 Kg.

Q: What is the Load requirements or cargo weight handled by each container and stacking situation?

R: 400 Kg.** is the max weight. Containers shall be stackable in layers under static load conditions.

Q: Does the end user need to stack the containers? If so, what height should they be stacked?

R: Yes, we do require to stack them. We only stack at max 3 containers high.

** Single container load capacity is 400 Kg.

When containers are stacked, only the following options are permissible:

1. Two Containers stacking: it is possible to stack one additional container on top of the base one, with a weight of 400 Kg. (tot. 2 CNT’s= 800 Kg).

2. Three Containers stacking: Alternatively, it is possible to stack other two containers, on top of the 400 Kg. base one, each weighing 200 Kg (tot. 3 CNT’s= 800 Kg).
