The following Requests For Information (RFI) were received by this office and answers provided by 31CES Project Manager are hereby posted:

Question 1: In the rooms where occupancy sensor is required there is more than one lighting switch (two or more lighting groups). Shall the occupancy sensor switch on all the lights or one lighting group only?

Answer 1: With reference to Para 4.1 and 4.2 of the SOW, we asked for having the number of switching circuit as per Attach#1. Whenever there is more than one lighting switch they shall be grouped to meet the given number. We emphasized this also during the site survey.

Question 2: In the rooms where occupancy sensor is required there is more than one lighting switching point (two or more entrance doors with wall switch or push-button). Shall the manual on-off bypass switch be installed at one entry or in all the entry doors?

Answer 2: With reference to Para 4.1 and 4.2 of the SOW, we asked for having "push buttonS/switcherS and any other burden to have the job performed in a work-man-like-manner", that is to say as many as we need to replace the existing layout. For the above bypass switch shall be installed at all the entry doors, whenever existing. We emphasized this also during the site survey.

Question 3: On the Technical specifications item 4. is indicated that the occupancy sensors shall have adjustable luminance level from 5 to 1275 lux. Is a level from 10 to 1000 lux acceptable?

We think that 10 to 1000 lux is within the setting parameters.

Question 4: On the Technical specifications item 4. is indicated that the occupancy sensors for corridors installation shall be designed for horizontal covering area of 25m or more (at 2.5 height of 2.5m).

Is an horizontal covering of 24m acceptable? We think that value is within the maximum length of the project corridors.

Answer 3 & 4: We provided a detailed list of ratings based on the evaluation of the best performance available on the market. Even though 10 to 1000 lux may be considered a realistic working range, we experienced that better performance are always associated to an higher quality of product, better quality is associated to higher reliability and minor maintenance life cycle costs for the Government.

For this reason we keep asking for luminance level from 5 to 1275 lux.

File details come from the government source that posted it.
