VMware Horizon (with View): Install Configure, Manage [v6.0] course and

Windows PowerShell Scripting and Toolmaking course at

31CS Aviano AB

1. Is the outline provided just an abbreviated out line or is this the only material the customer wants to cover for the Powershell. This would mean 2 days instead of 5 days for the COTS class.

A: All of the PowerShell classes that were surveyed listed the training outlined in the PWS as 5-day classes

2. The Solicitation says " ***If a commercial internet service provider is required, Contractor will provide requirement no later than one month prior to contractor arrival.*** We were confused by this. Are you saying the vendor must provide Hotspots or we just need to let you know that we require commercial internet?

A: When we say "Contractor will provide requirement," we mean, just let us know if you need a commercial connection for the class. We have commercial Wi-Fi in our training room. It is totally separate from the DoD network. If you need us to test certain sites, please provide the links so we can confirm that your instructors won't have any issues.

3. If the training starts in September can it end in October?

A: Yes

4. For this requirement is the customer requesting training from an Authorized Microsoft training vendor and an Authorized VMware Vendor(For VMware if the participants want to get certified they need to take an authorized class)

A: Yes they need to be authorized.

5. In the description of services it says " This training will be executed at Aviano AB, Italy in a training environment provided and coordinated by the 31st Communications Squadron. Does this mean the customer is providing PC's, Commercial Internet access as well as LCD projector and white board for instructor presentations?

A: The training classroom will be equipped with government computers and a projector. The computers are HP Pro Book 6460B (13ct) and HP Pro Book 640G1 (1ct) loaded with Windows 7, 64-bit operating system. The contractor will provide any other necessary hardware/software necessary to conduct training.

6. Would your customer be open to Live Remote Instructor Led-Training, instead of our instructor traveling to Italy?

A: Due to the nature of the training and the setup of the classroom we would not be open to the possibility of Live Remote Instructor Led-Training. We would need an instructor to be here in person.

7. Do you want a more updated version of the VMWare View class as 6.0 is old? There is a new version VMWare Horizon (with view) Install, Configure, Manage 6.2.

A: We are certainly open to training for a new version of VMWare View such as 6.2, but it is not a requirement. At a minimum we are looking for 6.0.

8. Will the classroom where the training takes place also include internet so the students can connect to labs on an external server?

A: Yes. The training classroom is equipped with commercial internet connection which would allow students to connect to labs on an external server.

9. Can you please tell me the closest airport to Aviano AB, so we can estimate travel costs?

A: Venice Marco Polo Airport

10. Also, would the instructor be staying on base or in a nearby hotel?

A: The venue that the instructor stayed at will be subject to availability in the area and will be determined by the vendor.

11. There are two different attendee headcounts listed. The PWS says 16 and the FBO Synopsis says 14. Please confirm the correct count.

A: 16 is the correct number as stated in the PWS. It has been updated on FBO.

12. The courses will require internet access and the PWS states: “If a commercial internet service provider is required, Contractor will provide requirement no later than one month prior to contractor arrival.”

13. Since this is due on 9/6 and delivery is required by 9/30, there is no way we can provide 30 day notice. We will require internet access for these courses. Is it acceptable that we make you aware of this now?

A: Yes we can confirm that we do have commercial internet available. One stipulation is that we would want to verify the computers in the classroom can connect to any specific websites you would need access to. Is it possible to provide a sample web address to ensure these computers can access the appropriate web locations?

14. Delivery dates: The only options for Sept are weeks of 9/12, 19 & 26. Do you have a preference?

A: The preferred option would be the week of 9/26, but 9/19 would be the second preference.
