Frequently Asked Questions (Answers provided by requesting activity)
1. What type of cylinder stroke is required?
A press with a linear stroke is needed. This means that when activated, the ram extends in a straight line, applying pressure to the parts being formed. A button or lever can then be activated that returns the ram to the retracted position. Additionally, it is important to stress that the press must have "Dwell Capability", so the stroke can be stopped at any point in the ram's travel, without the ram automatically returning to the retracted position.
2. What casing height is expected?
The facility has ceilings in excess of 15 feet high, so if they're referring to the machine's total height, there are not any significant restrictions in that area.
3. What rubber height? 6"?
The rubber pad needs to be 6” thick in order to form a part of a given thickness.
4. What pressing cycle time min/cycle is required?
A super-fast press is not needed. The minimum cycle time can be as slow as 3.5 inches per minute (IPM). The fastest cycle time, should not exceed 100 IPM. Anywhere in between would be fine.
