Answer: See attached for floor plan.
2. Subcontracting — Is a prime contractor that performs the fabrication and installation through a single qualified subcontractor acceptable, and are there any limitations on subcontracting for this requirement?
Answer: Subcontractors are acceptable. There are no limitations on subcontracting for this requirement.
3. Government-furnished equipment — Are the safe, two customer-facing tablets, intercom, and after-hours access computer government-furnished, with the contractor responsible only for accommodating and connecting them?
Answer: The safe, two customer facing tablets, intercom, and after hours access computer will be government furnished. The contractor is only responsible for accommodating and connecting them.
4. Statement of Objectives, Section 3.0 — This section references "installation of the audio system." Please confirm the scope of this requirement is the front desk only and that the reference is a typographical error.
Answer: This is in reference to the intercom system that the staff uses to make facility announcements to our patrons. This is preexisting and needs to be fitted to the front desk for operation by the staff.
5. Drawings, logo, and approvals — Will the Government provide confirmed dimensions for the 48 FW logo artwork (Attachment 2)? What is the expected turnaround for Government approval of materials and design prior to fabrication, and does that approval window fall within the 90-day period of performance?
Answer: Logo should be attached to the front desk and be easily seen from a distance. Final dimensions will depend on final dimensions of the front face of the desk. The expected turnaround for Government approval of material and design will take NLT 14 days. That approval window will fall within the 90 day period of performance.
6. Can we make this section return to the back wall? This will close off this side, making the opposite side the staff entry/exit point.
Answer: Yes.
7. If we need more than two mounted visitor screens, should we add the rest to the longer section #5 and how many visitor screens do you need?
Answer: Two mounted visitor screens is all that is required in total.
8. Can this section #3 operate as a required DDA /Equality Act accessibility lowered counter, or do you require the lowered section to be near the staff screens?
Answer: Section #3 can operate as a required DDA Equality Act accessible lowered counter. We do not require the lowered section to be near the staff screens.
9. How much space is acceptable between the back wall and the longest section #5? Will there ever be a need for a chair for example or wall storage?
Answer: 4.5 feet is acceptable amount of space between the back wall and the longest section #5. No wall storage, yes for space for a chair. Staff members will need to freely move in/out of the desk and to store equipment behind the desk as well.
10. If we place the FW Logo in the middle of section #5 what would be the the preferred method of the logo application - vinyl (flat), dimensional, routed or cast metal?
Answer: Vinyl.
11. SOO Scope Error — Section 3.0 says "installation of the audio system," but this is a front desk project. Is this an Error or intentional?
Answer: Same as question 4. This is an intercom system that is preexisting and needs to be fitted to the front desk for operation by the staff.
12. Electrical rough-in responsibility: Should we use the existing outlets/data drops at desk location or will these be reworked to operate with the desk?

17. Which is the preferred quote currency: GBP or USD Answer: The preferred currency is USD.
18. Waste disposal: on-base BCE or contractor-arranged licensed UK carrier?
Answer: Contractor arranged licensed UK carrier for waste disposal.
19. Desk Shape and Access: The SOO indicates an L-shaped desk. However, during the site visit, the end-user requested a straight linear desk with swinging access doors on both the left and right ends. Can the Government confirm if a straight linear design with dual-end access is now what is required?
Answer: L-Shaped Desk is required. A swinging access door on the far side towards the hallway is required for single point entry. No need for access doors on both sides.
20. Number of Staff: During the site visit it was mentioned that up to 3 staff would work behind the desk comfortably. Can the government confirm this and advise based on experience, what is the maximum number of people that would be working behind the desk?
Answer: The maximum number of people behind the desk would be three.
21. Computer Stations and Ergonomics: The end-user requested that the two computer stations be positioned at standing height. Can you confirm this?
Answer: Confirmed.
22. Self-Service Kiosk: A central location was requested for a self-service kiosk. Can the Government confirm if this kiosk requires integrated, concealed power and data routing to the desk surface? If yes, what type of power cable and data cable are required? Do you have the dimensions of the self-service kiosk?
Answer: Confirmed. The self service kiosk will be centrally located and should include integrated, concealed power and data routing to maintain a clean appearance and eliminate trip hazards. Provide one 240V UK power outlet and one Cat6 ethernet data connection terminated within the kiosk. Kiosk dimensions are not finalized.
23. Multi-Tiered Desk Profile: The end-user requested that the beginning and end sections of the desk be lower than the main central computer section to allow for easier interaction with members (similar to the Reference Image). Is a multi-height/tiered desk profile on either end approved for this requirement?
Answer: Approved. Lower transaction surfaces at each end and a raised central workstation.
24. RFID Reader Location: It was requested that the RFID reader be repositioned to sit on top of the higher level of the reception desk towards the far end. Can the Government confirm this placement?
Answer: Confirmed.

Can you confirm if this specific storage capacity should be incorporated into the final design?
Answer: Incorporate this into the final design.
26. Cable Management and Wall Solution:
a. The existing wall mounted TV Screen cables currently run down the wall into a floor conduit. We are exploring routing these TV cables through the existing CCTV camera wall opening down to the floor power point, which would eliminate the trip hazard of the floor conduit. Is this routing approach permissible?
Answer: Permissable.
b. Can the government confirm that we would have access to the area behind the wall to reroute the cables?
Answer: Confirmed.
27. Front Fascia Finishes: The SOO mentions materials must be durable and suitable for a high-traffic commercial environment. For the outer front fascia cladding, does the Government prefer solid wood plank cladding (as depicted in the Reference Image) or a wood veneer finish?

30. An L-Shape was discussed on site, with two users side by side with low level visitors area (see attached my initial concept ideas), with a gate or gate and flap that returns to the wall at the right hand end as you look at the desk. The new reference image shows an angle to the corner, with split heights for visitors. Is this the requirement?
Answer: Yes, L Shape with two side-by-side staff workstations. The member facing portions should incorporate lower height transaction surfaces, with a raised central workstation area for computers and equipment. The return section should terminate at the right-hand end (when facing the desk) and incorporate a controlled access gate.
31. Please confirm the position.
Answer: The member facing portions should incorporate lower height transaction surfaces, with a raised central workstation area for computers and equipment. The return section should terminate at the right-hand end (when facing the desk) and incorporate a controlled access gate.
32. It was discussed on site that the desk would start at the end of the first radiator and run to the end of the wall, but there is a service hatch in the floor toward the corner (marked on my attached draft layout, image also attached). Should the desk stop clear of it so that the gate is not obscuring it of should the desk stop short of the corner to clear it?
Answer: The desk should stop short of the corner to maintain access to the existing floor hatch for maintenance if needed.
33. Please confirm the maximum distance that the desk will project into the space (from the back wall) .
Answer: 5 feet.
34. Materials - What is preferred ? A wood or laminate woodgrain finish , or a more plain colour (grey and white was discussed on site) Answer: Medium Gray desk, dark charcoal countertop, and air force blue accents.
