DEPARTMENT OF THE AIR FORCE

48th FIGHTER WING (USAFE)

3 August 2017

MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD

SUBJECT: Solicitation Number FA5587-17-Q-0048, Furnishings Management Section Pickers Site Visit at RAF Feltwell.

1. A site visit for the subject solicitation was held on 2 August 2017 at 0845-0945 hours at RAF Feltwell. The following information will be posted on the Federal Business Opportunities website.

RAF Feltwell

a. Furnishings Management Warehouse, Building 73, Feltwell.

2. The following questions were asked, and the following answers were provided:

1) Question: Will the installation of the electrics be required?

Response: Yes- installation of electrics will be required

2) Question: What is the average weight of the load?

Response: Load will be at least 400 kg per pallet. The Government will amend the SOW to reflect this.

3) Question: Does the platform need to be permanently fixed to the cage?

Response: No, it does not have to be permanently fixed.

4) Question: Which set of Health and Safety regulations apply?

Response: UK Health & Safety Rules apply.

5) Question: When picking in the cage will there always be two operators in the cage?

Response: No – not at all times, we will require at least one operator to be able to pick.

6) Question: Does a mechanical engineer building the pickers on site require a skilled person training?

Response: No – skilled person training is only applicable for any interaction with real property.

7) Question: Can we bring a crane on site?

Response: Yes, however co-ordination will be required with CES/SFS prior to bringing the equipment on site.

8) Question: Please confirm there will be an "in rack" fused power supply with an electrical isolator for wiring in both chargers?

Response: Yes there will be 3-phase power outlets installed in the building 73, RAF Feltwell.

9) Question: Please confirm there will be a wall mounted fused power supply with an electrical isolator to power up the line driver for wire guidance?

Response: Yes, there will be a wall mounted fused power supply.
