2 x “Man-up” style Turret Trucks/Turret Order Pickers (Crown TSP 7000 Series brand name or equal). 1 fitted with forks, 1 fitted with caged order picking platform:

Man-up Turret Trucks to be used in a unique and custom Dexion racking system contained within the

Furnishings Management Section (FMS) warehouse. Due to the unique dimensions of the racking system, Turret trucks will need to be able to operate in accordance with the below dimensions/ specifications.

Racking Specifications:

Attachments contain detailed drawings of the racking to provide full overview of the specification.

Total racking height of 10200mm

Height of top racking level/shelf is 8316mm

Height restriction of warehouse is 10600mm (overhead lights)

Aisle widths within the racking are 2530mm. This is reduced to 2485mm at entry to each aisle due to racking protection barriers (attachment 2)

Each racking shelf is 1600mm deep

Total length of racking is 16135mm. This contains 9 cantilever arms spaced 2000mm apart providing

8 cells per level/shelf

Each cantilever arm is installed at an 88 degree angle resulting in each shelf having a 2 degree angle/slope (attachment 3)

Racking spans entire width of warehouse with a transfer aisle in between each side. Transfer aisle is

6888mm wide (attachment 4)

Man-up Turret Truck/Turret Order Picker with forks:

Total width of equipment should be sufficient to allow full reach to both sides of an aisle

Lift capacity no less than 800kg

Lift height must exceed 8316mm. Top level/shelf of racking is 8316mm from ground level. Turret truck must be capable of lifting pallets onto this level without exceeding the maximum warehouse height of 10600mm

Capable of lifting wooden pallets containing appliances and furniture. Standard pallet size used is

1000mm by 1830mm

Must operate within racking aisles using a conductive wire guidance system as well as end of aisle control

Battery operated. Supply of batteries and suitable charging device must also be included. Charging device shall be three-phase and successful vendor shall be responsible for suppling and fitting a plug to the charging device to allow installation. Charging device shall be “high-frequency” and battery shall be of applicable specification to ensure minimal heat is generated during the charging cycle which in turn shall reduce the amount of gas being expelled during charging. This is to ensure additional ventilation of the charging areas is not required. Charging device shall be supplied prior to delivery/assembly of Turret Truck to allow for installation before arrival of Turret Truck

Fitted with forks suitable for lifting pallets. Fork size to be determined by the manufacturer based on racking specification, pallet size and load capacity. Forks/mast will be able to rotate to switch between left and right racks within an aisle. Forks must be able to tilt up and down to allow pallets to be loaded/unloaded on the angled racking shelves

Full assembly/installation/testing of turret truck shall be included

Turret truck shall comply with all UK Health and Safety regulations/guidelines

Man-up Turret Truck/Turret Order Picker with caged order picking platform:

Total width of equipment should be sufficient to allow full reach to both sides of an aisle

Lift capacity no less than 700kg

Lift height must exceed 8316mm. Top level/shelf of racking is 8316mm from ground level. Turret truck with caged picking platform must be capable of reaching the top level/shelf so that the base of the platform is level with the shelf. Must not exceed the maximum warehouse height of 10600mm

Platform size to be at least 2500mm long. Width shall be determined by the manufacturer with the width being the maximum possible within the aisle widths. Platform must span the full width of the aisles to allow order picking/loading on each side of the racking simultaneously. Platform must include a full cage/balustrades to enclose all sides of the turret truck and platform. Cage/balustrades must open and close to allow for order picking/loading items onto racking. Cage must include drop down sides on the base of the platform to bridge the gap between the platform and the racking.

Cage/balustrades must be electronically interlocked, only allowing turret truck operation when the cage/balustrades is secured closed

Must have anchor points for securing 2 safety harnesses when worn by operatives

Full assembly/installation/testing of turret truck shall be included

Turret truck shall comply with all UK Health and Safety regulations/guidelines

Supply and Installation of Conductive Wire Guidance System and End of Aisle Control:

Turret trucks must operate on a conductive wire guidance system

Wire guidance system shall be supplied and installed by the successful vendor

Wire guidance shall be installed in the center of each racking aisle

Turret trucks must have the ability to switch to “free-mode” for the purpose of transferring to other aisles and for transferring to charging areas

End of aisle control must also be supplied and installed by the successful vendor. This must allow for the reduction of turret truck speed as it approaches the end on an aisle. The end of aisle control should be customizable to allow for a forced stop at the end of certain aisles

The successful vendor shall have to comply with various regulations and requirements regarding the installation of the wire guidance system. Please note, the following information is required due to the project being procured and performed on a Government installation. This includes, but not limited to, the following requirements:

o Provide information to fill out the government forms; Form 29: Details such as supply of full project information including specification details, a Health & Safety Plan, Risk/Method statements and electrical drawings showing how the conductive wire system will be tied into the electrical distribution panel. This shall be provided to the Furnishings Management

Section Services (FMSS).

o Details on UK Construction Design & Management (CDM) regulation compliance o Details of site lay down area (if required) o Documentation on how any waste will be disposed o Skilled Persons: Any mechanical or electrical work will need to be executed by a skilled person appointed by the Interserve Defence Limited (IDL) Authorized Person (AP). The contractor will need to nominate their staff for skilled person’s appointment by submitting technical certifications for their staff to include fire and first aid certificates to the IDL AP. If certification is accepted the contactors staff will need to undertake a formal interview and then sit a test which they must pass before being certified. The appointment of skilled persons training may require full working day(s) to complete training.

o Building Control Officer Approval: As the floor slab will need to be cut into, the contractor will need prior approval by DIO under the Form 29 and will need to utilize a Building Control

Officer to submit a C1 design certification and then a C3 certification once the work is complete. Building Control Officer sign off shall be the contractor’s responsibility and any costs associated with this shall be paid by the contractor. Please co-ordinate with FMSS regarding the Form 29 approval. Defence Safety Advisory (DSA) Fire Officer Approval:

Although there should be no fire issues, a Form 1 will be submitted to DSA by the

Government prior to the project commencing. DSA will provide confirmation as to whether the project does/does not need to conform to fire regulations. This information shall be relayed to the contractor as soon as a determination has been made. Depending upon the determination, DSA fire approval may not affect the contractor, however, please note the contractor shall be required to adhere to all fire regulations.

Further to your email I can confirm the following information from our design engineers:-

1) The arm IPE section is welded to the connecting plate in an 88° angle, in order to prevent the falling of the products after loading the cantilever.
