Blast Booth Questions Round #2
1. In your previous questions / answers # 11. You indicated the equipment would ship through Norfolk, Va – are we to quote freight to Norfolk, Va and the government will freight to RAF Lakenheath?
Answer: Yes.
2. The weight requirement for the floor is 3000 pounds – it is a raised floor without a ramp – that would mean that the parts will be forklifted to the edge of the booth but not driven in?
Answer: Depending on the height of the ledge will determine the requirement for a ramp. All equipment being positioned in the unit will be rolled in.
3. You have not specifically requested a “Breathing Air Compressor”, although breathing air is required – will you be providing appropriate breathing air or are we to use the air from the Compressor we are providing and place a CO monitoring system within the operating system?
Answer: We have a breathing air system here that will meet the requirements.
4. This will be a turn key project – we will do everything – EXCEPT – terminate the feed electrical to the Main control Panel?
Answer: Yes
5. Can we assume that our equipment / containers will be delivered and stored within close proximity of the area in which the equipment is to be installed / assembled? That the RAF site will be responsible for unloading and positioning these containers ?
Answer: Yes
6. Are progressive Project Terms of Payment available for this project or is it Net 30 after start up / training and acceptance?
Answer: Payment terms will be Net 30 after government inspection/acceptance.
7. Are there any labor restrictions for installation and assembly of this equipment, i.e. unions / Boss Contractors, etc.?
Answer: This is simply a commodity purchase and no labor restrictions will apply.
QUESTIONS RECEIVED AS A RESULT OF A SITE VISIT:
8. What type of media will be used primarily?
Answer: Plastic – Avalite Type 5
9. What is the level of abrasive reclassification?
Answer: To remove ferrous particles only
10. What is the media size requirement?
Answer: There is no requirement to maintain media size
11. Will media room/booth be connected to existing building’s fire alarm system for notificaton?
Answer: Yes
12. Does dust collection system use a bag for waste?
Answer: Yes
13. What is the wheel diameter and width of the component support trolley?
Answer: 10.5 inch diameter by 6 inch width
