HOSPITAL ASEPTIC MAINTENANCE SOLICITATION

FA5587-08-R-0010

QUESTION AND ANSWER #3, 20 AUG 08

CONTRACTOR QUESTION:

1. How many beds do the various wards hold?

2. Can you give the linear meterage of the outside paths.

3. Can you confirm your requirement for return on the 2nd September?

4. Are the appendices (excluding cleaning) a combined number for RAF Lakenheath, RAF Mildenhall & RAF Feltwell?

5. Please can you tell me if all laundry is currently handled on site? If so, how many staff are in the laundry and is there any TUPE information regarding this?

6. Likewise with the Cleaning, is there any TUPE information to take into consideration?

ANSWER:

1. The total number of beds in actual wards is 31. That's 22 in the Med/Surg Ward and 9 in the OB Ward.

2. I don't have figures available for the request - linear feet of paths.

3. Yes, the requirement is due/closes on 2 Sep 08.

4. Yes, it covers all of the medical buildings at all three bases. In the room listing I've listed building numbers. RAF Mildenhall buildings are 446 and 830, RAF Feltwell is building 70. Note, in the PWS there's mention of Building 80 at RAF Feltwell, where clinical waste for the Vet clinic is collected bi-weekly, but it doesn't show up in the room listing as nothing else is done there. All other buildings are at RAF Lakenheath.

5. No, the actual laundering takes place through another contractor; so

TUPE would not apply.

6. We are currenlty seeking TUPE information from the incumbent contractor, we are also seeking legal adivce as to how much of the information is allowed and how much the vendors (yourselves) are required to supply yourselves in the contract work statement you will be supplying. There will be a follow up to this question as soon as answers are defined.
