Questions Answers

Anti-rust coating (Complete rust proofing).Please clarify the meaning of "complete".Otherwise, please accept anti-rust coating for Okinawa area.

According to attached FED-STD-297E, paragraph 4. An Illustrated rustproofing instructions covering the vehicle to be rustproofed shall be prepared and maintained by the contractor in technical manual form. (One rustproofing manual covering several similar vehicle types is acceptable.) The manuals shall specify required tools+ materials, procedures and applications for proper rustproofing of the specific vehicle. Procedures in the manual shall include detailed drawings that specifically show where holes are to be drilled. and how access is to be obtained to provide complete coverage for all specified areas of the vehicle. The material shall be applied by trained rustproofing technicians and in accordance with all applicable OSW Standards and Regulations. A copy of the manual shall be furnished to the authorized Government Procuring Agency-s Quality Assurance representative prior to rustproofing any vehicle under the contract.

Workmanship shall be of such quality as to assure that application of corrosion preventive compound to all vehicles under contract shall conform to the rustproofing instructions prepared by the contractor and to the requirements of this standard. Particular attention shall be paid to the requirement of an evenly applied coating with no excessive running. sagging, or build-up. Any overspray of material on body finish .trim, windows, or upholstery shall be removed without causing damage to any component or material(paint, rubber, plastic. etc.). Any overspray that may accumulate in prohibited areas (see5.5) shall be removed with a clean cloth and solvent. such as naphtha. A minimum amount of solvent should be used to remove deposits of compound from the upholstery. Necessary precaution shall be taken to assure that the solvent used does not cause damage to rubber padding, upholstery, adhesives, and any other prohibited areas (see 5.5). In addition, for tropical rustproofing, see 5.11.1.

FED-STD-297E, Table I indicates in detail what areas require applications and should be used as a guidance on areas on the crane for corrosion preventive compound application.

Currently, to the best of your knowledge, the only contractor that can handle the rust proofing applications and uses authorized corrosion preventive compound pre this regulation is TOUBU Zeibart, Okinawa.

I have attached the NSN’s that are authorized to be used pre this regulation standard. XL5-G part number is a Zeibart corrosion preventive compound.

Two-sided curtain in the cabPlease clarify the meaning of your required "Two-sided curtain".1. Curtains are installed in two directions (cabin right side quoater window and cabin rear sidewindow)2. 2 curtains (drape and race curtain) are installed in one direction3. 2 curtains (drape and race curtain) are installed in two directionsWe woud describe the supplement as following.As for 1, We can provide you as manufacturer's additional available option. Please see attachedreference picturers.As for 2 and 3, according to manufacturer, manufacturer does not have actual achievement sothat it seemes very difficult to install 2 curtains (drape and race curtain) into the inside ofcabin.

Boom length should be at least 44 meters fully extended and at least 9 meters fully constricted,and expansion should be at least 21 meters.Please change the description from "Boom length" to "Boom and Jib length".Please see attached document.

Boom length 31.3m Boom and Jib length 44.2m

Please accept 360 delivery date after the award.Manufacturer needs 300 days for delivery due to considering current volatile market.And, more 60 days are needed for contingency and influence of typhoon might affect thedelivery/rustproofing schedule.
