SUMMARY OF CHANGES

The purpose of this amendment 0001 is to revise Performance Work Statement (PWS) dated 6 Jul 2011 and provide answers to the questions concerning the aspect of the solicitation.

A. Questions & Answers

Question 1:

It is stated that " Gov shall only provide an asbestos survey to contractor when removing existing carpet at

Para 1.1.1. In the event the existing carpet (including adhesive) is determined to be Asbestos Containing

Material (ACM), should contractor perform REMOVAL and DISPOSAL of ACM? If so, should contractor include the cost for REMOVAL and DISPOSAL of ACM under "Remove Existing Carpet" on Price exhibit?

Answer:

No, if the samples come back positive for asbestos, they will not be working there until it is removed. See revised PWS, paragraph 1.1.1 for further details.

Question 2:

It doesn't mention an asbestos survey for the removal of existing vinyl floor and tile at Para 1.2. What if it has a possibility of the containing asbestos? Asbestos survey by the Gov is not provided in that case?

Should contractor perform REMOVAL and Disposal of these ACM?

If vinyl floor or tile is going to be disturbed, it will require a sample to be taken and it will follow the same removal procedures as the carpet, but 99% of the time, the carpet will be installed over the tile and there are no asbestos hazards in covering the tile. See revised PWS, paragraph 1.2.1. for further details.

Question 3:

It is stated that "The contractor shall return all furniture to its original location after final cleaning at Para

1.3.6. However, We understand that the Gov is responsible to move/remove all the furniture when installing/removing Carpet and tile under incumbent contract. Please specify who will be responsible to move/return all furniture?

Yes the government will move the furniture out, but after the carpet is down, contractors will move it back and vacuum the new carpet as a final product. See revised PWS, paragraph 1.3.6. for further details.

Question 4:

If the contractor shall remove/return all furniture, we've experienced that the some specialized furniture cannot be assembled by the contractor. Does this contract anticipate this case?

Specialized or electronics that cannot just be plugged into an outlet or computer jack will not be moved by the contractor.
