Sidetrack Roadbed Maintenance when the contract is awarded?

The Government usually does not provide any guidance or training to the Contractor for this project, however, we would provide guidance as necessary.

3 Performance Work

Statement: PWS

Appendix G If it is difficult to see the location of the railroad tie replacement, etc. on the Sketch (Appendix G), could you re-mark it on site?

It is possible to re-mark the locations on site, however, this will be completed in August of 2021.

(OU1)

PWS Appendix G Is the location of the regular Wooden Tie and Iron Tie replacement on the rail road crossing in front of the gate at OU1?

Yes, the replacement work is performed only in the rail road crossing in front of the gate at OU1.

PWS Appendix G and

H

Is the 20.9㎡ area of removal/restoration of asphalt on the public road as it is written in the Sketch

(Appendix G)?

Yes, it is the public road only.

PWS Appendix H Could you tell us the method of the pavement after replacing Iron ties on the rail road crossing in front of the gate at OU1? The project requires that the

Fastening Device be filled with asphalt.

Please lay non-woven sheets over the device. Then, cover it up with coarse grain/dense grain asphalt.

However, please do not compact the asphalt pavement excessively from above of the fastening

Device.

PWS Appendix H Does the Contractor need to replace track bed with new after the Regular/Iron Tie replacement work on the rail road crossing in front of the gate at OU1?

This project doesn’t require track bed replacement.

However, if the track bed is found in poor condition after the pavement is removed, the Government may order the track bed replacement as an emergency repair work.

PWS Appendix H and I Are there any specifications such as particle size for the pavement structure (two layers of dense grain and coarse grain) after replacing the Regular and Iron Tie on the rail road crossing in front of the gate at OU1?

The particle size is coarse / dense asphalt 20. It does not specify reuse or new regarding the gravel.
