Improving Sheet Resistance of CVD-Graphene by ex-situ Doping
(Document No. W90GQZ-62000039)
1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE.
The proposal is to investigate a new doping element and doping method to improve the electrical property of graphene. The advantage being low-quality, but inexpensive, graphene can be modified by doping with transition metals to have electrical properties comparable to expensive, high-quality graphene made by other cost-intensive methods.
Basic Period:
1. Milestone 1: Graphene growth and transfer: optimize the synthesis and transfer methods to be used.
2. Milestone 2: Ru ALD on graphene optimization: optimize Atomic Layer Deposition
(ALD) of ruthenium on the synthesized graphene.
3. Milestone 3: Synthesis of multilayer graphene: demonstrate multi-layer graphene growth and multiple transfers.
Option 1 Period:
1. Milestone 1: Ru ALD on multilayer graphene: characterize electrical properties of ALD ruthenium on multilayer graphene.
2. Milestone 2: Optimize ruthenium deposition process.
3. Milestone 3: Optimization of synthesis of multilayer graphene
Option 2 Period:
1. Milestone 1: Multiple transfer of single layer Ru ALD graphene: Characterize electrical properties of ruthenium doped single layer graphene.
2. Milestone 2: Optimize multiple transfer process of ALD ruthenium on single layer graphene.
