About this file
This Questions and Answers document clarifies two key points regarding an Arctic SME Training contract opportunity from the Department of the Air Force Pacific Air Forces. The first clarification confirms that the 10 years of experience requirement applies to the combined experience of the instructors teaching survival and mobility in the Arctic, not necessarily the contracting company itself. The second clarification addresses snowmobile requirements, specifying that contractors need sufficient snow machines for mobility around the training location, with a preference for two-seat machines to accommodate potential evacuations.
The related solicitation (FA500425Q0005) requires four cold weather/arctic subject matter experts with at least 5 years of SOF Arctic training experience, along with 30 extreme cold weather tents with heating systems. The training focuses on two main learning objectives: living in the cold (TLO1) and mobility in the cold (TLO2), requiring both didactic and hands-on instruction methods.
