1. On Sht F200, Scope of Work Note 1, states “Install a wet pipe sprinkler system throughout the entire facility in accordance with applicable codes.” Does the current IBC include reference that draft stops are not required in attic spaces? This would be similar to superseded IBC code Section 717.4.3 (Other Groups) that states “Draft stopping shall be installed in attics and concealed roof spaces, such that any horizontal area does not exceed 3,000 sf. Exception: Draft-stopping is not required in building equipped throughout with an automatic sprinkler system in accordance with Section 903.3.1.1.” Due to the project requiring installation of an automatic sprinkler system, please confirm draft stops are not required at the attic trusses.
Confirmed, draftstopping not required within the attic due to the presence of the sprinkler system.
2. Specification Section 01 35 26, Paragraph 1.5.1.1, states the project requires specifically identifying a project Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO). Paragraph 1.5.1.1.1 further clarifies “the SSHO may serve as the Quality Control Manager. The SSHO may also serve as the Superintendent.” The solicitation, specifications and/or drawings do not specifically separate the positions of Superintendent and Quality Control Manager. Are these to be separate and distinct personnel?
Answer to Question 2. - For this project, there needs to be a Superintendent and a Quality Control Manager (two individuals
– one filling each role).
3. Are flooring material alternates allowed, if they meet materials specs?
Flooring material submittals that meet the salient characteristics of the specifications will be approved. Brand name used in the specifications or drawings is used to serve as a basis of design (an example of a product that meets the contract requirements).
4. Could I please have clarification on material base of design for SDVT-1? This is the material called out in the Finish Schedule for Telecomm 117 but not listed in the Material Schedule.
ADD to A900 Materials Schedule: 09 62 38, SDVT-1 Basis of Design Static Dissipative Tile (SDT) by Armstrong color armor gray - 51951
