Answers to Questions #7
Project FTQW 15-1021
Repaint Hangar Floor (B1232)
4 June, 2015
Q1. Amendment 3 issued a new spec for a 5 coat fuel resistive system replacing the original 3 coat fuel resistive system. The basis of design product listed in the SOW are still for a 3 coat system and the submittal register refers to a thin film system. The is a big difference between the two, as the five coat system is a ¼ inch (250 mil) troweled epoxy mortar while the 3 coat system is only a 13-20 mil coating system. Can you clarify which system is required?
A1. Yes we are now going with a 5 coat system. Updated SOW and Specifications have been provided.
Q2. Can the patch test be done and approved right prior to the start of work?
A2. Yes the awarded contractor can come up and do a test patch prior to construction start and extend their time in Alaska.
